No idea when it will be stopped, in my opinion as.long many investors invested and their initiated new token to the market, whether it's succes or not there will be another ICO. Wasn't it good if you part of successful ICO.I hope so. CMIIW Smiley

In reality the icos will never stop being released.

There are many projects to be created and each one with a new purpose, many projects creators try to create another project that might work.

I think it's cool that there are always new currencies, but there are many unnecessary currencies on the market,
but whenever an interesting project appears I invest in the ICO when possible.

ICOs will always exist because that's how new strong currencies come in.

I think the rush will calm down when people become more savy in spotting shitcoin projects. The concept is so new and there are so many new people rushing to the market that their excitement keeps them from educating themselves and doing the proper research.

With time, no doubt the shitcoins will fail. I think these failures will set a standard of what a good ICO should look like. As mass adoption of crypto increases, so will knowledge of how to evaluate ICOs.

Hi, everyone!
I became familiar with ICO world only 3 months ago, now I see how many new projects have appeared during that period.
I think the amount is enormous, so many different projects even with repeating ideas!
When do think will this rush stop and why? Huh

ICO hype will never end providing it can give an investor decent profit in the future and even just by joining bounties, a good profit is possible. It will just stop or being minimized if:

- People will not support them "by investing"

- Strict policy and regulations will applied to those project. (much better so that it will sort out good and shit ICO's)

I am with your questions because I am also curious about the different ICOs never ending scene, I think it only happens for 1 year now and biggest reason for this is the Ethereum platform that enables too many ways in making ICOs. I think this will last for as long as there is a group of people or company that will think of an idea even it is great or not to do an ICO with their website, it is true that there are many people already benfited with this various ICO bounty campaigns and they earn a good amount of money though and I am one of them. I can't really tell to what will this ICO will last long but it will end eventually as the regulations of different countries regarding this matter are getting high.

As long as there are investors willing to risk their money on these ICO projects, it will never stop. Some countries already tried to regulate and ban ICO but it does not slow down the new projects from starting an ICO because there are still millions of dollars being invested on new projects.

Even though there are so many irrelevant projects offering ICOs, but the very few ones which are legit will always attract investors and as such, ICOs will never come to end. And everyday, there are so many new projects as well.

When all the countries will start banning ICOs as like China or at least start regulating them. Everyday a new shitcoin appears in the market from some greedy people behind them and many of them are scammers, this is why the market is full of crap now. These ICOs should be regulated in order to make crypto environment better for future.

If every country bans the ICO sale you will be able to find all the ICO projects will be stopped from the forum and elsewhere.
I noticed that recent days there is no many gambling site projects in the forum comparing with the ICO projects. They just promote it and scam the people.

Check the white paper and blog information bro. With that you will be able to get into trusted project dude.

This! Exactly what I was trying to say, juts rephrased. Eighter people will learn it on their own, or they will learn the hard way, if the latter takes place, regulators will step in to prevent worst case scenario for investors (look at china).

Many people call ICOs a bubble - the next as compared to .com bubble back in 2000.
And what you need to compare - are the figures involved.  Right now as we speak ICO rush attrackted too few money.  Anything can change quite fast - so try to investigate how  much it was in 2000 when .com bubble collapsed - and add inflation and plus the news travels much faster today than it did in 2000.

Fun is guaranteed for sure.

Haha! I like your comment about fun!

Thanks, cottagecoin - and by fun I mean that EVEN is the bubble bursts - there still will stand out great ideas companies.
Like who cares what happened back in 2000 - when there is Google.com, Amazon.com and many other great companies are in place and make money.

So that is going to be fun - for those ICO companies to find their place in the business  after the burst.

Indeed, a lot of ICO created and not all of them are successful, but people are intrested on investments and easy earnings, of course there is also people who can provide them this oportunities, i think rush can only stop when they will start being unsuccessful and investments will bring you lower amount and goverment regulations can also influence on this

I think the amount is enormous, so many different projects even with repeating ideas!

They are popping because they are free to be seen with their "scam" projects (mostly) as nobody is here to regulate them yet, or verify their identities as well as the project they put in front of us. ERC20 or Waves tokens can be easily created with the help of resources available, which helped "scammers" a lot, before.

Quote
When do think will this rush stop and why? Huh

This can only stop when a real committee/panel gets set up by either the community members here or SEC to help verify these projects before they go live, and when it all stops the scammers, it will also ensure that only quality-based ICOs will be up and running for the purpose of everyone's good.

The idea of a panel created by members of this board would be ideal, as only people from the space have the knowledge and understanding to create useful guidelines. But do you think that this can be done completely without regulators? If so, how? I mean, even setting up a panel from members of bitcointalk would not ban scammers from creating icos and advertise them elsewhere (twitter, fb etc.). But regulatory steps could achieve this, as scammers would be scared of going to jail or loosing a lawsuit if they dont keep to their promises. What do you think about it?

The rush will be stopped soon but the ICO process will never stop. it will be more complicated and will look like IPO - with consultants, lawyers and auditors.

Exactly , all this ICO thingy started few months back and now I see ICO's everywhere . Probably all the new signature Campaigns are promoting their ICO and this is how I come to know about the new 'legit ICOs'. There are many many ICO's in the altcoins bounty section but only a few among them are legit .

If I would not have been part of this forum then I would be completely unaware of that existence of ICO's . I agree that not all ICO's are beneficial for me but sometimes when I read about some I feel interested and feel like using their website or their products. I also come across some useless ICO's who try to do the same things which already few famous firms are doing. So it's kinda useless to use them unless they come across with something unique.

Absolutely agree with you. ICO as the means to collect investments for good projects - that is true. Otherwise no one stopped IPOs when their rush ended, did they?
