Constantly talked about, nothing different to any other coin, can someone explainthe highlights of this coin?

What do you mean not much action? There are updates every week. Lightning network, atomic swaps, ledger integration, new people for marketing, Viacoin ATM, soon Trezor integration. Everything on the coins roadmap has been done. Other developers don't do even half of that.
