Segwit is cancelled, hence you're noticing a drop in bitcoin value, reason people are no longer holding in wait for segwit to get free coins and also expected rise in btc value, instead people are now investing in low dumped alts.
I think this is the perfect time to invest in altcoins, because a pump is upon us people.
But don't invest in every coin, just to more reliable ones, especially those who were high before this recent bitcoin hike.

I'm going with Ripple, Nem and DGB for now. Because these are solid investments, and I can sense a pump for them in the comping days.
You can invest in your favorite alts, or maybe buy more of you already own to lower the average buy value so you can maximize your profits.

Yeah #altsareback for sure, this new attention BTC got from reaching ATH attracted a lot of people that are just hearing about the pletora of investable assets, we'll definitely the top 10 by market cap benifitting from new and old fiat money in Crypto. I like the 3 mentioned names, would add Dash, NEO, XMR, LTC and IOTa to that list. Also some  shitcoins  that got hammered during BTC's bull run!

I think that this is the perfect scenario to buy altcoins, they all were in a downtrend for more than months, and now they are slowly recovering, they all are in green numbers again.
I have bought some monero yesterday, but i will not buy more altcoins because i have never trusted in them at all, i just only see them as an investment opportunity that has to be dumped in a few days after you bought them because they are ten times more volatile than bitcoin, and this is true, if you look at the charts you will notice that it is really happening.

Agree to the choice Ripple and NEM, but DGB purely for speculative purposes. I do not see the prospect in Dgb

Ripple? Really? I would not have it as a core holding. I'd have BTC, ETH, XEM, NEO, IOTA, LTC and LSK as core holdings (proportions up to you), all of them I think are worth to have as core portfolio. From that you could expand into some other alts you like.

the prices already started to rise, way earlier in the day. the right time to buy was a day or two ago imo, when the prices were still low

this now is good buy altcoin use ETH not use bitcoin
because ETH price relative stable price, if buy altcoin use bitcoin, and bitcoin price down and crash and all altcoin price inraese
profit not maximal if value use fiat money

Yes, I agree that it is a good time to buy altcoins, but as allways, I recommend to do your own research before investing into any coin. Check the whitepaper, team behind the project, reputation, market cap. Do they have a website? Are they active in a community? And buy when the price is low, sell when the price is high. This Could be one strategy. The other one is to forget about the coin and hodl. It is up to you.

To be honest, I can not see that big drop in the price of bitcoin. Rather it has remained stable above $7,000 despite the remarkable swing caused by the news yesterday. I will never consider a wise decision to change our valuable bitcoins for any altcoin. In any case, if you plan to invest in altcoins, buy them with ethers or fiat money, not with bitcoins.

I agree that the time of the bigger altcoins pump is already over, cause after the segwit2x cancel a lot of people were coming back to the altcoins and now they are already like the price before all this B2X Drama.

For me it's really annoying, cause I planned to invest more in a few coins that all got up like 30-50% in 1hr. So I was too late, just because bitcoin and it's unreliability (and probably a bit of corruption) can just do this, because the big guys decided not to the hard fork when it was just one week to go!

A lot of people lost money here, because they relied on bitcoins and it's forks/changes, but this just shows how badly the people destroy this coin. I say nothing against bitcoin, but currently people going to use it's popularity in a really bad way.

This is exactly what I am doing. I buy some altoins as much as I can afford And I still holding my valuable Bitcoins. Seems that bitcoin price will not drop as there is no panic selling. The community believe in bitcoin very much. It cause the the price to not drop.

All of the major altcoins can be good choices. Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, Dash, Stratis, Waves and Monero have dropped in price in past months. There is a high possibility that we will see all of them prices at their all time high soon.

I think it's a bit premature. The fact that everyone in this thread is so hopeful and has already declared that the bear market is over tells me otherwise. I picked up a couple small bags during the dumps yesterday morning, but only micro caps for long term investment. I'm not taking any trading positions in alts yet.

Most of the altcoin charts have not formed a solid base -- usually that means more sideways and retesting of the bottom, if not just continuation of the downtrend. I'd like to see more blood in the streets before I start really buying into alts again.

Well, Bitcoin drops but I think if you have funds buy some altcoins. Panic selling will cause of lose and not the best deicsion to do. Invest in some alts that is profitable.

A lot of fiat entered the crypto market with newcomers who were buying into BTC given its recent hype, hopefully that cash will now stay in circulation as crypto and go into alts. NEO, OMG, ETH, VTC, ZEN all have performed as expected, since they were doing well before BTCs period of dominance and some even managed to buck the BTC uptrend too - those are the real stars to hang on to.

People say that every time there's an altcoin fall with bitcoin's price rising. Alts are no safe heaven throughout they have a greater risk factor than bitcoin and a high covariance, meaning that investing in bitcoin is better by all means. Even historically, it's been proven the best choice.

Alt coins are very volatile. I invest only in projects I truly believe in, I find the short term goals do not really yield me much profit so hope to hold for a much larger period. If they can keep delivering then maybe the price will rise and that will be a good time to sell. The perfect time for me is if the base price is good, I have spare 'invest-able' money and I believe in the project.
