Any news of the board is ready ?
Sorry for any confusion on time frames, we placed our order with the PCB fab at a busy time for them so our design was in queue for a short time but things are moving forward and I have an estimated ship date from the fab of September 5th.
We are waiting in line for boards to be made... End of this week start of the next you might see 16 chip board hashing...

Be positive
Batch 1 3/4th  July should be sent 14th October, plus delivery and mounting time is only 6 weeks away. If you only get 64Gh/s from your 16 chips  "THEN" its time to be glum.
If the frankenjala can give 8.7Gh/S then Lucko's "Cointamination" should out perform by at least another 6Gh/s without any effort.

We are not BFL. It will not take weeks it will take days... Working out a way(since I will probably not have exact date) to mount chips in less then 3 days from the date I get them in heads... Not sure if this will be possible in US(jj will know that) but EU looks possible.

FrankenJala is not the same as firmware update... 8.7GH is just firmware. My FrankenJala is doing about 14GH. The problem is that is doin't that with 4, 5 and 6 chips... It is like hitting a wall. You can't get more out. And we didn't figure out why yet... But it is low priority since this product will be offered as DIY videos for free(donations welcome) and as service for those who will send us Jala and chips. And we still have 17 days for figuring that one out... On the other hand we need to make whole supply chain ready for Cointamination... And that is priority for me...

EDIT: P.S.: 17 days away are first chips delivers...

We know that 5 16 chip prototype(not all with all chips) will be about 600 to 800$ per board... But this is complicity different thing. Low numbers and no rush. But we don't have exact number for mass production. We should have it once prototypes are assembled... After that you just reorder and tell time frame... But current estimates in EU are 600 to 450$ with all needed for hashing(you need only 12V power suplay and probably USB cable). Unless you are ready to wait for mounting in weeks not days then it will cost less. And also number of boards orders in batch determines the price so it might differ a bit...

Hello

Just wanted to give an update. I received this morning a DHL tracking number from our PCB fabrication facility in China. These will likely arrive in 2-3 days, at which time I will post pics on the forum and send a couple boards to form and lucko for testing and I will also send 5 boards to my US based Assembly facility, to have 5 production test boards manufactured.

If all goes well with those test boards (which we expect it will) we will move forward.

- Things left to do:
- Test professionally manufactured production board
- --> Finish web site for ordering and order tracking
- --> Test different cooling solutions
- --> Determine final prices

<-> We will have PCBs in hands in a couple of days
<-> We will have professionally manufactured production boards in 7-10 days (or earlier)

Ill post an update with pics as soon as the boards come in.

-JJ

Coming soon the Cointamination 16 65nm Chip BFL CLone Board.

Hi Lucko
Are you able to give out a list of group buy, "Batch 1",  "Batch 2", &  "Batch 3",  second payment due dates?
I assume these will be required on different dates to the "Board ordering and payment" dates.

The big day is getting nearer. Cool

I can give you theoretical dates or you can calculate them(first post have dates). I plan to ask at 90 days to go and give 8 days. But I would wait for first delivers. So I we will see if BFL is delivering on time.

Edit:
Chips in batch 3: 14th August  ----> 12th November ----> 22th November
Chips in batch 2: 17th July ----> 15th October ----> 25th October
Chips in batch 1: 3rd and 4th July ----> 1th October ----> 11th October

I do have an estimated price of what it will cost the end consumer to buy the boards and have them mounted. Form has written instructions for the pick and place machine to build 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 chip versions of this board, so all will be available however the price will not be much different if any.

Also we will offer DIY kits, as well as chip mounting services at our facility.

We will release an official price after I get a chance to talk to form and lucko about it. We usually meet once a day but thats about it because of time zone difference.

Web site still has to be completed in order to take orders, this will be completed by the time we have tested the boards. Payments for North American orders will be in Bitcoin only. Form and Lucko may accept other payment methods however that is up to them, and has yet to be determined.

I will post more info as soon as its available.

-JJ

So if we supply you with the chips we might be able to buy a board that has 16 chips installed for $500. Is that correct?
