CoinFest 2014 was officially announced. We have a whole lot of booths, shows, games and stuff planned that will be announced gradually until February 15, including an Afterparty and other events on the day of. Roughly 45 people so far are RSVP'd to come, which is pretty good for this early on. Will probably be Canada's biggest Bitcoin event, yet!

I would like to give an update: The date we have chosen for the conference in Israel is 3-4 November 2014, which is Monday and Tuesday.

We're still in a very early planning stage and no additional details are available. But if you wish to attend, make sure to save the date and not have any conflicting plans. (And if you're organizing a conference, choose a different time )

We may be able to do it at an earlier date. Stay tuned...

Science Park Amsterdam is where early attempts to integrate cryptography with electronic money were made by David Chaum (inventor of many cryptographic protocols. His 1981 paper, "Untraceable Electronic Mail, Return Addresses, and Digital Pseudonyms", laid the groundwork for the field of anonymous communications research. For example the predecessor of TOR: Mix networks), through his companies DigiCash (anonymous transactions) and ecash (anonymous electronic cash system), which used cryptography to anonymise electronic money transactions.
