Most Projects allocate a certain percentage of their coins for airdrop along with bounties. I have to agree with you sometimes its a bit vague. I have been doing airdrops for the pasts 10 days for 40+ projects, and i only received coins for two. This is due to a multitude of reasons
1. Airdrop campaign is still running, you need to wait for it finish ( sometimes it takes them days, weeks or months) you have to be patient
2. You might have accidentally entered the wrong wallet address( I make it a fact to double and triple check my address, there's a malware around that changes your address once copied to your clipboard)
3. They are bogus projects ( they never went past inception), it's incredibly easy to make your own ERC20 coins  
4. You can check with the devs on their Telegram group

You just have to keep doing them. Sign up for bounty programs, usually projects update their spreadsheets every week so you can see you many stakes you have accumulated.

I find the airdrops can be a good way to learn about different networks. It can give you a reason to try things like waves tokens, eth contracts, or see how different protocols work like NEM. Usually whatever is issued isn't worth too much so you can use it to experiment with exchanges like EtherDelta. I wouldn't expect to make much money from it, but then again, you never know.

as I know, airdrop is one of the earliest projects of a token launch. token from airdrop we can get usually depends:
1. the speed of us following the airdrop, because there is airdrop which has the time limit and account limit participating.
2. some are dependent on the scramble or lottery of the account that will get the token.
3. other than that there are certain rules.
so in my opinion, if you have followed the airdrop but did not get the token, maybe one of the above provisions can answer it.

The purpose of airdrop usually is to get attention for the project. There are good ones, just like omg, there are bad ones as well.

I dont know how you follow the airdrop. but usually not all that follow will be distributed airdrop, maybe you are lagging far in big count. or you are out of luck.

I always get the airdrop that I follow. but many have no value. so I think it's better to follow a clearer sign project on the roadmap and its future plans. you do not have to worry if you do not get airdrop.

One of the reason why we ain't received tokens from airdrop is due to low level profile of some required accounts like BCT, twitter, wallets & etc. Also, after you submit the form save the name and date of ICO tokens in your notepad & join to their social media to get updated as well. But be wise! As most new tokens nowadays are often HYIPs and lead to scamming people.

There are lots of airdrops scam better choose the good project that will actually pay you for your effort. but in my case i joined all airdrops that i found to have a big chances to get a free coin for just registering good luck.

You simply get the wrong coins. If you try the good ones like DeepOnion, you get it every time. Now 17 rounds of distributions are done, there are 23 more to come.

There are a lot of airdrops that have been beneficial, the issue is that most are usually a scam.
It's not that you will lose anything, unless you provide a private key (never do it)

lol, how can they be a scam if you dont pay for anything or work hard for it to get their precious tokens in the first place? though some of them are required you to pay a specific amount to be able to get qualified and be given out free tokens. but overall airdrops are not scams but ico's are yet most of their tokens arent just worth it and have a little less value compared to ico's coins.

I feel you mate! I've also been following a lot of airdrop for some time and most of the airdrop that I joined are all scams. I even joined their telegram to know important updates and announcement. Out of all the airdrops I joined, there is only one that really give the token as promised. Guess there is no really easy way of earning money, you still got to give a lot of efforts.

You can check their thread and read some comments if they've already get their tokens maybe you followed the wrong thread that giving some airdrops. You must know by yourself if that's legit. And also observe them if they are scam or just getting your private information.

This is true aside from giving your information in the spreadsheet you must know the details in their ann thread on how many days or on what day they will send off the free tokens. You need to visit the ann or the spreadsheet too if you are qualified. There are many factors that affect the distribution.

There several thing can make you not receive your airdrop token
1. You not put correct address or maybe that address not support erc20 token (sometimes happend to newbie but you cant be that one right ?)
2. The airdrop is allready close when you register
3. You not fullfil the criteria to receive one (like you not follow their twitter or not join their telegram channel etc)
4. Someone allready use your btt account for register so dev think that you cheat and you disqualified (sometimes other user try to gain some advantage and
    register to one airdrop several times to receive more than other, that maybe require btt account.)
5. You're not handsome
6. Or maybe the airdrops distribution is a month after you fill the form ( some airdrop take a long time before distribute their token )

Some airdrop scam. you just check that airdrop scam or real. sometime airdrop token give you later because ICO will ends then admin give you token. when you join an airdrop check the thread then you some idea that airdrop scam or real.
