religion set standard, moral and sometimes shape the way we think about the world and our fellow human. but it has come to a point where people become enlighten and started asking more question, having lower or no restriction to what they can do or achieve by means of science and research. so yes it will save you if you follow the right part.
Thus their has being some miserable fellow who used religion as a cover to do stupid and unimaginable thing turning religion into a thing of joke.
we all have different views and religion but don't force your religion onto any body for any reason.

Im a moslem and i feel saved by my religion. Well i mean, save me from do bad thing. Because in my religion there are so many rules that govern us in all aspects of life, such as how to socialize with others or by behaving towards parents, and much more. If we do bad things and then what will we got in the afterworld, and all of that is explained in religion. So if the question is “will religion save you from do bad things?”, i would say BIG YES

Religion would not save you from your sins, neither will it help you get to heaven. The only person i know that can save you is JESUS CHRIST!! Believe in Him and you will be saved from your sins and also He will make you get to heaven.

I do not think religion will save a person into heaven, because religion is only a belief. What will save us into heaven is to carry out the teachings that exist in that religion and keep away from its restrictions and if we do that we will surely be saved.

I study religion in the university... and i think all this is a kind of manipulation to have more people in religion... as people want to believe that there will be Heaven and they want to go to Heaven. But I think you should choose religion by your heart. And probably this can even be no-judaistic (where nowadays we can see the concept of salvation and they are most widespreaded) religion just as buddhism. It's understanding of this question is kinda abstrcat imho
