My advice to you wait now etherum values drop,not only etherum and bitcoin every currency only bitcoincash raise,you may invest money to bitcoincash but wait it's my advice to you.

I think if the price is falling down now, it is time to buy bitcoin for investment and hold it because it is just preparing for the coming fork, and for sure it will rise again after the fork with much higher than its original price before the drop down.

CME group is going to launch Bitcoin future by the year end and many more news are aligned in favor of Bitcoin. Bitcoin will eventually go up. Right now altcoins are getting hard to predict. Shifting to them is very risky and may decline you portfolio's btc value. I would advise stay in bitcoin and refrain from any trading right now. Let the mess of B2X and BCH get clear.

If  you are reacting now, then it is quite late. ETH has been dipping for a few weeks while bitcoin was surging. I bought ETH and other alts when they are down. Right now, I cannot predict which way bitcoin will go. So if I have bitcoins, I will choose to hold or save them rather than risk them again on alts. Bitcoin is safer bet long term.

Stop being so fiat centric. If you hold $1000 worth of Bitcoin, the number of the coins you hold will remain the same regardless of what direction the market moves to. On top of that, it's just a small decrease that we experience right now, and after the mad increase we have gone through in the last weeks, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Ethereum is in a long downward spiral, which means that this is a coin people should avoid. Governments are more and more looking to find a way to put a stop to the ridiculous number of shit ICO's, and as result of that, the number of ICO's will only go down, and thus Ethereum as well. The only thing you and others can hope for, is a pump to happen, but that would be more or less similar to gambling.

i think it would be better for you to sell it right now and then wait a little bit for the drop.
afterward buy it back in the bottom and then hold it.
why ?
because Bitcoin move is very unpredictable,everything can be happen with it in the next second.
do not afraid about your portfolio value and set your goal to increase your Bitcoin position.
right now investing your money in alternative coin is not a good choice because right now they did not show any significant move.
in the next few days if nothing goes wrong we should see another decline,
it's a healthy correction because i believe next month we will see another run like a few years ago.
if you want to invest in altcoin,it would be better for you to but it later on in early 2018ish,
most people will start to get money after spending it, and altcoin is the way to make money in cryptocurrency.

I suggest that you don’t sell for a loss. If you made money and want to sell that’s fine, but selling at a loss defeats the point of investing in Bitcoins. It will eventually go back up. We could be in a short price dip or it could be a longer correction, but the price will eventually get back to $7500 at some point. Many of the altcoins aren’t doing well either so there aren’t many options for moving money. I’m going to hold for a while because I think the price will go back up soon unless the Segwit2x fork back on.

Do you think it is a brilliant strategy? If you shift and the price recovers quickly, you will be left wondering what to do. If you are a long time holder, you won't be bothered about all these short term dips. That is my strategy.

You have it the wrong way, if the value of your bitcoin drops to 900$ from 1k$ you should not touch it or dump it. Once the price goes back or over the original price you will be in - profit. Better to exchange it to ETH once the price goes over the original 1K$ and trade to bitcoin when bitcoin dips again.

Thats nice idea while bitcoin is at it's  low now maybe the time to exchange etherium coins and sell it while at its high. I will just add up to that if it were me sell that I will bitcoin while its at low because if the price of bitcoin surge again and rise man that would have a great return on your investment that is maximize profit and would be great for your investment it's  like hitting two birds at one stone.

This happens several times this sudden drop in bitcoin price is a normal cycle bitcoin needs to experience but we  should not worry because this is temporary and selling your bitcoin at this point is not a good idea we must trust bitcoin because surely it will pump again in week or two you will regret selling your coins during the drop I am confident after this a higher value of bitcoin will come

This happen for numerous time already on bitcoin I actually seen it crushed up to $140 per bitcoin for about 2 years ago if you sell those coins already then you gain nothing you just lost but if you sell it today you absolutely gain a huge profit so to answer your question based on the past history of bitcoin the best thing to do is to hold your bitcoins and wait for it pump again it may not take at least a month and you will see bitcoin price soaring high again.
