I have smelled the unpleasant smell since the first project came with a non-transparent system.
plus your observations that add to my belief that this project is really a scam.

What they have done makes us distrustful. But their ideas are really attractive. If they are a real project they will need to do more to take trust investors

Is there a service to get ICO's audited?

it takes time and effort to do this, maybe we could do a crowd funding campaign to investigates all the rip-off's

I was really interested too and I'm still looking for ICOs to throw a few ETH at (PM me please if you have ideas there).  But... yeah, seems weird.  First of all, we get an email advertising pre-ICO and to just send ETH/BTC to some address.  For all I know anyone could spoof an email like that.  Should do pre-ICO through a secure website at least.  And there is even more to consider...

For example, "monetize your router???"  Yeah, I can just imagine getting 50 cents a month for this.  It just doesn't seem feasible and the explanation wasn't really clear.  I really hope I'm wrong but I'll be watching and hope I don't get hurt too bad if this thing turns out to be the next Cisco

Beware. This could be a SCAM

  • Appeared just recently 2017-10-21] (domain, posts, etc)
  • Pre-sale only 2 weeks later from first posting
  • Social posts appeared just a week ago
  • Mostly fake team (no linked in, no social profiles)
  • Some team members were suspects of another scam
  • No product / MVP
  • Extremely generous airdrops to attract attention
  • Whitepaper is garbage, just marketing b.s., no real technical content
  • No legal entity

lots of other warning signs

what do you think?

These are indeed some valid points that are very much against the proper growth of the project. However, to be fair to the project and the team members, you might wish to raise these all up to the devs and wait for their response. They might also have some valid answers to these shady details. I cannot see on the list that the devs are shutting their doors for queries and issues like these.

If it's really a scam, is there any 'damage' for us who joined them?

There are a few wifi projects, but the most promising is IUNGO if you are interested in this technology.

I found them here, in the forum a few weeks ago and today they are on Coinspeaker https://www.coinspeaker.com/2017/11/11/everything-amazing-everyone-happy/

At a very high level, Iungo provides society with ubiquitous and seamless internet access through a distributed global network, built upon a swarm of  wifi hotspots.

I Wonder why people spend so much resources in setting up scam site, instead of investing them in real products and service

you can setup a website in a week (as these guys did it) and "start ICO", grab money and run

real products takes times, effort, investments, etc. to build

FCUK, just realized it is SCAM...  Was looking few Wi-FI projects, but should agree, this ne is nicely done, but not real... Better I will choose more realistic IUNGO... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2196784.0

Hi Fishnick,

Yes I also agree with you IUNGO is the real deal:  high quality real team with full profiles (also ex LinkedIn Exec as advisor), working MVP, core team active and answering every question on Telegram and a very intelligent and engaged community of supporters ( i recommend you join the Telegram!). I have already made two investments in the pre-sale and it's definitely worth checking out now before the 19th November (67% discount, pretty sweet).

Good luck out there guys and stick to quality projects!

these are valid arguments

I'm not planning any investments, but it is interesting how creative are people
Yes, leave the shit project. Wi-fi is relate to the govt policy. To make such project isn' t easy. If there is a project that should deal with government like internet provider, energy plant and finance that need to deal with banks and govt, you should stay away from this project if there is no legal certification released. There are many fake project. the coin just dump and pump.

I have found the brief information about this ICO and their rate https://icobench.com/ico/wi-fi-global . So they want to make Wi-Fi free for any person? I doubt the project will have a success, and their whitepaper is strange… but it also does not seem like being a scam, just a bubble.

I propose you sell your investment as fast as possible, before it's too late. Everything shows that is scam so do not risky and take it out

WiFi Global scammed me through their telegram before asking them if this was regular protocol to ask people to send crypto to non contractual ethere accounts;  which telegram coordinator agreed on as "normal" business practices

All in I was Scammed  $126USD.  I am really happy that they will have something coming to them that is more enjoyable to me then losing out on that amount🙄
