What made you think that bitcoin is a failure? Can you please explain your point of view here? Is it because of the segwit cancellation and recent dip in price? Or something else? Because from where I see, I see bitcoin as a revolutionary idea that can change the world economy for better. Obviously it has some flaws but that easily can be overlooked considering what it has already given to the mass. Bitcoin is not a failure for me at least. Blockchain is an amazing technology and we will see many application of this technology worldwide.

Just an fyi, that big management consulting companies like Boston consulting, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and KPMG have already started showing interest in this technology and started recruiting blockchain specialists for any future project that may come their way. A long and better future is awaited for positive people here. It's a revolution and not a failure.

Wonder why people start thinking bicoin a failure just because a dip in price and a segwit cancellation. Price dip was always on the cards even if the segwit was activated.

Yes. Pack it up boys, we're done here.

What altcoin could take it's #1 position?

DOGE.

but every dog has his day

DOGE confirmed.

On a more serious note, it's still a bit early for yet another Bitcoin obituary, is it not? B2X is out, but the game hasn't changed. Right now we're at the level of just 10 days ago. That's barely a dip yet.

You have not given any reason for terming bitcoin as a failure.Bitcoin is not a failure and if its a failure,it would have not crossed eight successive years. We have already come across hundreds of such obituary of bitcoin. But every time, bitcoin proved itself. Those who still say bitcoin as a failure, either they should be promoters of BCH or they would have some interest in altcoins. That's why, they show their helplessness in this way.

Wasn't bitcoin around $4300 in the beginning of October? Then it just continued to hit record highs all throughout the month? So it takes its first step backwards after taking massive leaps forward for entire month and people think the sky is falling?

I mean don't get me wrong, I am new to crypto and have yet to get any of my wallets to over a 0 balance, but still... I have been following the news and this forum pretty close. Will be nice when I actually have some money to buy some cryptocurrency so I am not just a fan, but I'm on the team lol.

You're a soft hearted crypto enthusiast. Just because BTC dumped for a bit, it's now the end of this coin? Very illogical. BTC has proven a lot, ups and downs but still the main thing in the world of digital currency

Yes. Kinda silly, isn't it?

You might be new to crypto, but it looks like you got a better grip on things than most other people. Many newcomers get easily spooked by the slightest of drops.

I guess a lot of current fears stem from BCH catching up on BTC the last few days, as apparently triggered by the cancellation of B2X and the upcoming BCH upgrade / hardfork. Brace yourselves for a few more days of drama until the dust has settled.
