Hello all,

i have a RIG of 13 GPU of GTX 1070.
i use Simple Mining software.

i dont find a good config of Overclock i am actually at 27 mh in default and i want to go to 32 mh or more in OVERCLOCK.
and of course it need to be stable.

so if you know what CORE CLOCK and MEMORY CLOCK and POWER LIMIT it will be great.

thank you all.

Best regards

what operating system u on?

what miner are u using?

open or closed source

***

Be very careful your cards are $600 each, and its SUPER-EASY to kill them, most of the bullshit I see on the net will fry your cards,

Personally I use linux, and keep my power ( in watts ) well below 110 watts on my gtx-170 class cards, no problem to get 35MH

U need to MODEL one card first, you can't learn on the rig, U need to learn about ONE-CARD, know its limits its characteristics most mining software like ewbf or claymore will crash once you push the clock to the limit, I find open-source (ccminer) to be much more stable

There are 1,000's of variable, but the first deal is to PROTO-TYPE your gtx-1070 take one card, put it in a stand-alone system and LEARN how it working learn about power, fan, clocking of memory & gpu; learn et-al

IMHO windows sucks, sure you can use a MSI GUI and its pretty, but u make a mistake and fry your card,

It's better on linux, you use the cmd-line, nvidia-settings and nivdia-smi, and you can write scripts that automatically config your miners at boot, but FIRST U MUST learn how to use these tools, first U must know what your actually doing.

This stuff takes time, and +90% of the ppl I see here don't have a clue what's going on underneath the sheets

More important than MH, is power, as YOUR profit at the end of the day is more dependent upon your electricity bill than you MH-HASH rate.

Optimizing power/profit, hash/algo all takes time, experts use the cmd-lines, idiots use the GUI

Thanks

I use simplemining and the 2 rig have 13 gpu gtx 1070 with 3 psu ( 1200 / 1000 / 1000 WH) and ASROCK h110 pro btc+ with 13 riser V6
i have reach 30.5 mh but isn't stable (-200 core / + 750 ~ 950 mem / 150 Power limit ) every 20 min the rig Down and reboot
i need to find stable conf to reach 32/35 mH/s
have you an idea ? to reach this perf ?

BIG Thanks

Asking for 35 mH/s from 1070 is too much. That hashrate is achieved with the GTX 1080.  I wonder why you want to mine Ethereum as Nvidia cards are more Zcash friendly and with 13 GTX 1070 you can make 5850 sol/s or 0.0042 btc daily. I highly doubt this will be achieved with Ethereum which is 416 Mhsh or 0.00374 btc. All calculations done through Coinwarz.

Anyway I have reached 31 Mhash with my Gigabyte GTX 1070 with +200 core/+650 memory, power limit unchanged.

I highly suggest to change to Zcash mining, it is 0.0005 btc more daily for you.

thank you for your answer.

so you suggest i switch to Zcash.
if i switch to Zcash do i put overclock +200 core/+650 memory, power limit unchanged to get 5850 sol/s ?

and just when you say power limit unchanged do you mean 150 power limit or cfg default on simple mining wich is 90.

thank you all for your advised help.

Yes I do suggest you switch to Zcash as Nvidias are more Equihash friendly cards so you can make more btc per day with mining Equihash algorithm compared to Ethereum at which Nvidias do not excel.

Zcash isn't impacted a lot by the memory clock so you can keep it to plus 500 and keep the core clock +200.

If energy price is a problem for you turn power limit to 70% or 125 watt or if energy price is no problem leave it unchanged at 150 watt.

There isn't 1 good asnwer to it. Everything depends on GPU , brand, each particular card etc. You might not be able to achieve 32 mhs. Most 1070 doing 31. Thats like standard for myself, some of them running 32.5 but rather few. So in another words you must play with your cards and find out what they can do. There isn't bios modding like in AMD, so all you do is play with all kind of settings.

Why are you insisting on mining ETH on a GTX 1070?

They do a LOT better (and soak a bit less power usally) mining other stuff.

https://whattomine.com

 select for a single 1070

Watch ETH show up NOT as a Top 5 option for that card.

70% TDP on most GTX 1070 models is either 106 watts (151 "default" watt TDP cards like the Gigabyte ITX, MSI Aero, EVGA SC, Zotac Mini) or 136 watts (180 watt "default" TDP cards like the Gigabyte Windforce 3-fan).

Yes of course i will switch to Zcash but as i understand if i find the good overclock for mining ethereum it will be the same overclock for having the best mining OC in Zcash ( maybe i am wrong please tell me )

and i want to find the good OC so i can switch at any moment between ETH, ETHC, ZCASH.

unfortunately the CFG Overclock Cereberus give me didn't work it crash instantly.

right now i try Core -200, Memory 950, Power limit 150, target temperature 75 degrees, minimum fan speed 60.
with this OC i have approximatly 29,85 mh/s i will try to see if it is stable ( no restart i mean )

before i have try Core -250, Memory 950, Power limit 150, target temperature 75 degrees, minimum fan speed 60.
with this OC i have approximatly 30,2 mh/s but it is restarting every 60 minutes.

what do you guys think ?

again thank you all for your help really

right now i have try Core -50, Memory 1100, Power Limit ( Watt ) 120, target temperature 75 degrees, minimum fan speed 60

with this OC i have approximatly 30,5 mh/s i will try to see if it is stable this night ( no restart i mean ).

You are wrong. ETH is memory dependent. Meaning you need memory overclock and can leave core even underclocked if not dual mining. I use mem +600, core -50, 70% power and have between 31&32 MH for ETH. Same setting for Zcash would only give you around 370 sols and these cards should be able to go to 450sols. Zcash needs core overclock.
That being said I never managed to get good results for Zcash (tried all kinds of OC and got max 400 sols on some cards and 380 sols on other cards). Therefore stayed with ETH for now. I will try again some of these days. Advice appreciated.

Not possible if you want to optimize power consumption and temperature as well. But you can make 2 or 3 different profiles in afterburner and switch them with the coins.

Hello all i need some advice i am scared that my GPU's are too hot.

ETH OC : Core -50, Memory 1100, power limit 120, target temperature 75, minimum fan speed 60
i am running around 30,3 MH/S but i am a little scared because the GPU's get very hot around 75 Degrees. Look

°C // fan %

74 73 71 69 73 64 77 66 57 75 72 70 72 ℃
84 68 72 60 60 60 60 60 60 60 62 60 60 %

what do you guys think ? should i put fan: 100 % ?

what is the max temperature it is ok for a card ?

Zcash : for Zcash the GPU's is very very hot i have put

Core : Empty
Memory : +500
Power limit : 120

GPU's go around 77-80 Degrees.
Very scary
i have 440 sol/s per card but 80 degrees...

please help

thank you all

Zcash : for Zcash the GPU's is very very hot i have put

Core : Empty
Memory : +500
Power limit : 120

GPU's go around 77-80 Degrees.
Very scary
i have 440 sol/s per card but 80 degrees...

please help

thank you all

I USE SIMPLE MINING

For Equihash mining (like Zcash) you want to increase your core clock and only moderately increase memory. Try reducing memory and upping your core clock to about 50-100 and play from there. I've seen people successfully mine stable at core clock increase of 150.

Also your power limit is crazy high. Most people power limit DOWN to reduce electricity consumption and heat, while only losing some sols worth of mining.

If electricity consumption and costs aren't an issue for you, I would still suggest moving that power limit closer to 100. You'll see the temp come down as well.

You could also try spacing out your GPU's more so the heat generated from each doesn't impact the ambient temperature around the other GPU's.

77 degrees is still ok as long as it is stable at that temperature and your cables aren't getting hot. I wouldn't feel comfortable running them above 80 degrees but apparently GPU's can theoretically run ok above 90 degrees, but I wouldn't want to try that.

Keep in mind I don't power limit to 120 so don't assume that above 80 degrees is ok when you're pulling that kind of power!

Yes of course i will switch to Zcash but as i understand if i find the good overclock for mining ethereum it will be the same overclock for having the best mining OC in Zcash ( maybe i am wrong please tell me )

ETH is very memory intensive - you DON'T want the same overclocks on ETH as on ZEC on most cards for best efficiency and hashrate.

Also, part of your heat issue is that you're pushing the cards to WELL over their design TDP specification - on the other hand 70-75C isn't an issue for modern video cards and most of them are fairly comfortable at 80C (though that likely DOES reduce their lifespan a little).

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Is it possible that my GPU 1070's heat is higher when i mean Zcash than ETH ?

i was around 75 degrees on ETH.

but now on Zcash ( Core MHz: empty

Memory MHz:
500

Power Limit (watt):
130

Target Temperature ℃:
73
Minimum Fan speed %:
70

i am around 435 sol/s

i am around 82 degrees on Zcash

very scary

what do you guys think ?

Yes, thats normal. ZEC uses more power. Get some fresh air in it.
Expect around 460 Sols / 1070.

also all my GPU are running 30.5 mh/s except one who is running 3 mh/s lol very strange

Best regards
