Hey, I'm looking for contacts in Thailand, I love the country and I'm considering moving there permanently.

I will setup a mid sized mining op, where would be the best place to set up shop if I want to live by the sea, without many tourists? Any suggestions and help greatly appreciated!

Somewhere OTHER THAN Pattia Beach (sp?), which seems to be the main tourist seaside hangout for at least the last 40 years.

The Holiday Inn was already there and running when I got to visit the place during Westpac '79 on Ranger (about 10 years before Sports Illustrated discovered the place and did one of their swimsuit issue shoots there).

Thailand is not a crypto friendly country.
I would really investigate about if this is a illegal thing to do there.

You dont want to be put behind bars in Thailand.

Also, the heat is for real there all year around and the electric prices are pretty high. I think there is better countries for mining.

Ive met many miners from thailand, havent heard about any issues mining there other than the damn heat. Lol or the high imoort fees they charge n these miners.
Yeah i think your biggest issue will be heat. Your will need really good cooling solution, so i hope your prepared for that and you will be fine.

hi,
I live in thailand (phuket).
I want also to import miners from Bitmain. not done yet. I ask many questions with Bitmain and DHL about the import fees.

To avoid a arbitrary tariff fee (10% I think), as there is a free trade agreement (0% tariff on 95% of products including computers) between China and Asean Countries (as Thailand) you need to ask a Form E (Certificate of Origine) from Bitmain, it costs about 80 $ per shipment (for 1 tracking number). so it is 80 $ even if you import more than one miner.
you have to call the carrier (DHL, etc) to "open a request for push to bond and clear custums under Form E".

(not sure about this) you ask Bitmain to send to you the form E, that you will send to the carrier (DHL, etc).

Bitmain told me that they ship usually, separately the power supply. so it is better to pay the tariff fee as the power supply is cheap (105 USD).
you have to pay the VAT (7%) and some fees for the carrier (15 USD for DHL).
