On Mt. Gox, the price of BTC is wildly swinging up and down enough to make you lose your lunch.

Up as high as 17.009

Down as low as 17.002

But when the market moves this much, there's money to be made!  Wink

Seriously, the "market price" chart looks like the EKG of a man who's been shot in the head -- 5 times.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.
