So i withdrew some money from a not-to-be-named high interest investment platform today as I do every couple of days.

It's been about 6 hours now and the transaction is still pending in my wallet.

The transaction fee used was 0.0004 which should be OK?

Why is it taking so long?  Usually all my transactions are confirmed within say 30 minutes max?

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

There's nothing wrong with your fee as long as it is recommended and it's sats per byte isn't too cheap. And according to https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions there's 101k transactions that are stuck now so I guess your transaction is one of it. If you want to confirmed immediately and be prioritize you should increase the fee. Can you post the TXID here so I can see on how much sats per byte you paid for that transaction and if you want to, there are offers on the services section for transaction accelerator like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2204426.0

Depends on the size of the transaction.  Hard numbers are useless in this context.

For us to know what fee your transaction has in satoshi/byte and to potentially help you out with transaction accelerators and the like, we'll need you to post the transaction ID.

Demand is exceeding transaction capacity, so there are a lot of unconfirmed transactions.  One potential cause is the huge increase in trading volume over the last couple of days.

Could easily just be problem with the website. Try making a support ticket there and see what happens. "High-interest investment" sounds very dodgy. Is this a well-known website?
