Is it safe to trade bitcoins for AMAZON/NEWEGG gift cards? I mean what are the guarantees the codes/cards will work when you enter them?

I'd like to buy some AMAZON/NEWEGG vouchers with bitcoins, hopefully at 60% of card price but I'm not sure if it is wise to do this.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

You can try to look for trusted sellers or sellers who have already completed a few transactions with other users. Ask other users about the person you are buying from. This will help you stay safe, hopefully. You can also hire an escrow if necessary.

Those guys are charging a premium for buying with BTC, but it may be worth it. I'm not sure if they're legit or not.

People will usually trade Amazon/Newegg GCs on #bitcoin-otc if you ask, and there you'll have a rating system to make sure the person is not a scammer.
