"Attention! Pool is currently syncing to the BTG chain and will be up shortly!"
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

there is no way a test net will seamlessly transfer to main network without a restart on the server. it will take time!

Mainnet needs to load the entire 160GB blockchain, so will take a while for the server to be back up.

This isnt' 2012.  This is 2017 and the era of high speed data centers with 40GB minimum data uplinks.  Should be a matter of minutes and really should be ready at the appointed time which was now over 30 minutes ago.  What a joke...

Sure, it's going to take some time but the mining pools could have coordinated and communicated better too.  Sure, takes time to sync up with 160GB but if you are running a pool then say that or say we expect to be live by whatever time you think it will be.

Notice your site says "Attention! Pool is currently syncing to the BTG chain and will be up shortly!
Blockchain Height should be 499407 to start mining. Current value: 492896"

Is this due to their pre-mining?

If you go to https://twitter.com/SuprnovaPools , it says what the problem is. "$BTG Pool is still syncing as @bitcoingold didn't release any bootstrap nor fast nodes to sync from." This might have been done on purpose.

Just create a regular BTC address that you will import later to their wallet.

Yes but don't use an address you have BTC in. Just make a new fresh address.

as fare as i know, bitcoin gold, bitcoin core and bitcoin cash, they share the same way to generate private/public keys, so you can use a bitcoin adress generated in bitadress.org with bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold.

This is my thought as well.

I just lost some more respect for the BTG developers, as it wasn't enough for them to pre-mine, but now since they are the only ones with a currently synced blockchain I am sure they are taking advantage to insta-mine as many more blocks as they can for personal gain. Pretty crappy way to set the tone for a launch.
