Hi All,
Big big big problems.
As in the subject, there was some Bitcoin to Bitcoin cash wallet. Coinbase to Bittrex. Both exchanges said there is nothing I can do. Is this the case?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Unless you hold the private keys of the Bitcoin Cash address, you can't retrieve it. However, if you can convince the support to help you, it would be fairly easy.
The address generation for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is basically the same. They just have to craft a Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash transaction to send it back to the sender.

I don't think bittrex is going to give you their privatekeys. Best bet would be to contact their support, but as you've stated they told you they couldn't ( didn't want to ) do anything, so yeah, your money // BCH is indeed indefinitely lost. |

I don't think bittrex is going to give you their privatekeys. Best bet would be to contact their support, but as you've stated they told you they couldn't ( didn't want to ) do anything, so yeah, your money // BCH is indeed indefinitely lost. I assumeis the amount is high enough then they might attempt to try to sweep the bitcoincas and send it back to you (although I think that's quite unlikley). This is another exchange trying to make profit out of their users' mistakes (otherwise, they'd sue the same BTC deposit address for all BTC fork related accounts bitcoin cash and BCG (that is apparently coming). |

Update from Bittrex Support is below. It sounds like I am still screwed: When sending coins to or from Bittrex you must make sure that you always send the coins to an address that is specifically for that coin. This means that BTC must be sent to a BTC address, LTC to an LTC address, ETH to an ETH address, this holds true for all coins on Bittrex. If you have sent your coins to another coins address these coins may be recoverable, but may not be recoverable as well. Please review Bittrex's Crosschain Recover Policy for further details - https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000961172Please make sure to provide the Name of the coin you sent and the address you sent it to by accident along with the transaction id these coins were sent in. i dont think so it can be drawable anymore. cause many trading web give a single wallet that only serve 1 kind of coin at the time. soif you transfer in wromg adress dont know of it can be withdraw again

If you have sent it to bittrex, they only can help you. But they would probably not as they are always looking for chances to scam people. It's free money for them.

This is sad but your username speaks the entire truth of you right now. There is nothing you can do about it anymore. This is the sad thing about blockchain. Once the transaction has been done, there is no point taking it back. You cannot simply overturn what has already been successfully recorded. I hope this will be lesson to you, albeit in a very hard way. I hope this will also serve as a lesson to everyone else out there to double or triple check your address before sending anything. |
