I would like to send some bitcoin (0.1) to ShapeShift to exchange it for bitcoin cash... If I do this will the bitcoin ever get confirmed or will it be stuck due to the backlog of transactions ??

Can not pre saying anything, if you want to quickly confirm the transaction, use a higher fee
