There are definite beneefits to decentralization. But the process in which multiple decentralized parties are confirming transactions is time consuming, energetically unsustainable and unecessarz for day-to-day use, such as simple grocery shopping or buying books online and even buying a house.

While I agree we will one daz completely stop using banknotes and coins and replace payments with virtual ones, the majority of the virtual currency will not be a decentraliyed cryptocurrency.
