I don't think that it will be dropped by the network, the fee is not low so I think that it will get confirm in next 24 hours max. If he uses some transaction accelerator it will get confirmed soon. Next time dude put a bit higher fee then usual.
You can increase the fee you pay after broadcasting a transaction if you have either the private key of a sending address (via replace-by-fee) or the private key of a receiving address (via child-pays-for-parent). If it's not urgent you might as well wait it out.
