BTC & BTG Nodes... 2 copies of Blockchain?

So I run a full Bitcoin node and want to also run a full Bitcoin Gold node.  Should I just copy the full Bitcoin blockchain from it's directory into the director I plan to have the Bitcoin Gold Core program in?  I figured it'd be a lot quicker than having to download the whole thing again.  Please let me know if I have this right.

I tried that but didn't fully succeed. It nearly worked had I had to repair, but I did gain about 2 years! It's nearly cooked now saying 4 hours to go...
