Same thing if you want to send 5$. Doesn't matter. No one mining so must pay crazy high apparently.

I think fee should be % based up to a certain $$$ value then capped for higher. I send 10$ at a time with btc for years and it's obv not gonna happen with 2-4-14 now lol transaction fees.

How can you be a legendary member on BCT and not know about the attack on the Bitcoin network?  Most people believe a few people in the BCH camp are spamming the bitcoin network with 1000's of small transcations and other coordinated attacks in an attempt to flip BCH and BCT.  You've probably seen numerous posts about BCH being the true Bitcoin.

Every miner who cares about their profits (which are most pools and invidiual miners) went over and switched to mining BCH as it's more profitable for them, so Bitcoin is left here without hashing power. We're also under attack with tons of spam TX's by the BCH people to make the network seem as if it's congested with real transcations when it's all bullshit.

This is going to happen until the people let BCH die, so that has to happen.

How is it spammed? Do you actually think those bch guys are actually spamming small transactions and paying the current fees? It does not matter if they use 0.000001 sat/byte as it will just go to the bottom of the barrel and I don't think anyone can afford to spam with 2-8$ fee each time.

The problem lies in actual people who are using bitcoin regularly, who sent using normal transaction fee's of 30-320 sat/byte, got no confirmation then half the machines doing the mining joined the bch craze, which in turn increased bitcoin conf. fees => normal users who paid normal fees got the shaft waiting 3 days already.

I don't think no one is spamming anything, all the action moved to the other shit and there's nothing we can do unless that other shit, as in bch, drops in value or difficulty increases. Bitcoin is weak for allowing this shit to happen in the first place. It only hurts the actual people using the damn thing on a daily basis.

If it's not on Vlad's thread, then I missed the news.

Seriously, thanks for the enlightenment, bud. I admit being outta the loop.

Thanks, too, to the two follow-up posters.

Yes, use Litecoin but ignore the Coin that must not be named.

The backlog is slowly but surely getting confirmed though.
Just check how many blocks have been found in the last 12 hours or so.

Yesterday we were sitting at almost 200k unconfirmed transactions and it has already gone down to almost 100k.

Check how many blocks were found the past hour:

What the fuck is going on?

yeah nearly 9 years fees were 10 cents and less (9 * 365 = 3285)
how long has the fees been high these days? 2? 3? 5? 5/3285 = 0.15% of bitcoin's lifetime was in high fees Wink

How is it spammed?
it started with hashrate going to bitcoin cash. that caseud the time between finding blocks to be bigger than normal. up to 1 hour but mostly 30 minutes instead of 10.
that is about 50-80 blocks less mined in a day. 50-80 * ~2500 tx/block = 125,000-200,000 transactions in mempool!

nobody needed to spam this time.

Do you actually think those bch guys are actually spamming small transactions and paying the current fees?
the spammers have always paid high fees, that is why one of the possibilities is that miners themselves are spamming to increase the fees.

You can solve this issue partially by changing the difficulty adjustment protocol, Of course it won't stop spam attacks, But it will help if some of the miners leave bitcoin and start mining other sh*tcoins.
