The qwebirc interface connects to the server for you, like a proxy, and has a password which allows it to spoof its IP address to look like the user it's proxying for. It looks like the password for one of the qwebirc instances has been misconfigured by freenode... they may fix this at some point, so you could just wait and try again later.
A better solution would be to get a proper client, though.
