Hello

I was wondering when is Antminer S11 releasing?

Just a picture whit first gen asic chips

Still there are no any legit speculation about the releasing date of ant miner s11. I have came across the reddit chat which discuss about the same information but none of the miners seems legit information bro. However that will be helpful for you I think. Please check on it below.

Gee, perhaps I should make an Antminer 13 releasing! thread.... For one, learn how punctuation works.  Example, which describes you: 'I am a yutz!' or 'I am a yutz?' Changed reply Subject from a declarative to a query.

Just another totally useless post just to promote sig campaign

I think maybe 2018 as s9 and s10 is still working very well. I have been following most of the  update from Bitmain Antminer and I think they are seriously working on it. If something like $11  is been released then we should expect a greater profits from mining.
The logical step would be S11, not the S10

Could someone describe EXACTLY what an s10 is? I have seen nothing to suggest that an s10 even exists. To those folks that have been around for a while, Bitmain did have the s2 and s4, but never produced an s6 or s8. Way back then, the even numbered sx was a rack mountable miner as I recall. Bitmain seems to have completely abandoned the rack-miner form factor, and hence the s6 and s8 never came to be.

Clearly Bitmain can name their miners any way they wish, but it would really be attractive for folks not to "invent" a miner based on an N+1 naming strategy that hasn't been around for a while, N+1 wouldn't mean what you might think it means.

There is no S10.

There doesn't seem to be any significant probability of there ever BEING an S10, given Bitmain's normal naming model for their Bitcoin miners - but they MIGHT change that in the future.

The S5+ was kinda like what an S6 would have been, except it wasn't rack-mountable.

And the s5+ was AFAIK Bitmain's introduction of the current s7/9/t9/altminers form-factor of being interlockable shoe boxes.

Still have 2x s4's sitting in upstairs storage at work. Love those things. Good looking, could be turned down to be moderately quiet, but now just too damn hungry.

I guess Bitmain just doesn't want to manufacture more of those form factor miners and wants to stick with only one form factor (S7/9 style). Considering they haven't released anything like the S2/4 in a few years I wouldn't get your hopes up, they're already pocketing enough money with the S9. Not really much need for an "S10".

Any information on that? Haven't personally heard of anything new from Avalon recently. Efficiency, etc? Will it at least beat out the current S9s in efficiency, and hashrate if possible?

Look in the Avalon 7 thread. Steve from Canaan said a few things about it last Monday or so. Target around 14THs and 1400w or so. They are still hammering out specs and the production processes. Target is closer to the s9 specs while still being more reliable than the s9.

If canaan releases a better Avalon then the s-9

Bitmain will simply cut price on the s-9.

There is no need for them to do better then the s-9. Until someone clearly builds a much better miner.

Just go to hash nest and see the s-7 turn profit.

No one gets to check on the s-7 mining so by now most of them could be s-9 and they charge s-7 maintence fees.

What does this mean?  It. Means bitmain is whaling more money by the trunkful .

Why make a s-11 and kill the s-7 score on hashnest.

The answer is they will not do a new miner unless economics demand it.

And economics do not demand it to be built.

Let 'em. Mainly for the reliability factor I still would buy the Avalon's. Cut the s9 cost by 50% and ja, that would regain my attention - as long as they return to accepting BTC.

Until then, Bitmain who?

is not clear? You ask, 'are they better?' In terms of reliability and stability - yes. As efficient as the s9 - no. Which is better just depends on what YOU care about.

Howdy,
Completely agree with you! Hey you are legendary, a master here, but S9 is obsolete... I bought more two and I know that it will be obsolete next year... I was in Shenzhen and I could see that these people is working hard to sell the stock... and there is a big competition now with the the production of 10nm, definitely is not difficult to build ASIC Machines, but there is no way to establish a competition with China... and Property Intellectual... come on... we can buy these machines and sell... and BTC will reach 100.000 USD... but S9 is already old... and expensive too...

Not sure the leap to 16TH is enough to be a “killer” but it will certainly get attention from a lot of folks. A friend got in on the pre-order at $1595 which I think is super competitive with even the 14TH S9s.

But it’s untested. Reliability rate in the real world is unknown. Still though, I know some power-locked guys in Wenatchee who’d be swapping out full racks of S9s with these if they’re good.

More to the general point -- more than a bit OT here folks....
Thread is about someones speculation about the (non-existent) Bitemain s11. Not Canaan's very fine miners.

true, but I think there won't be an antminer s11 until bitcoin mining with s9 isn't profitable anymore (which I can't see in the near future) or like all people said a competitor brings something better out. I've got many s9 miners over here in Austria and I hope for some delay on new ASICs to be profitable a litte bit more.

Genesis Mining is sold newer sha256 mining contacts starting on 28 February and and of march, I guess they got some new stuff next year.
I know they have a lot of miners of Bitmaintech in the past so that`s why I think a newer miner will pop up soon (somewhere in Q1 2018).

Yeah and this whole thread has been quite useless so far.

Nothing real information with real sources on the subject ("Bitmain Antminer S11") that would give anyone anything.

Just a waste of everybody's time.

true, but I think there won't be an antminer s11 until bitcoin mining with s9 isn't profitable anymore (which I can't see in the near future) or like all people said a competitor brings something better out.

Or -- they are hawking the upcoming Canaan A8's which are due to be released to major customers in that same time frame...

Yes I am speculating your are right on that, or better stayed an educated guess. Last 3 times I was right whit genesis. Last year (2016) they started to sell pre order LTC mining contracts for cheap, so i speculated on newer scrypt miners (there where not new scrypt asics build for a year or more) and I was right! The Bitmail L3 came out, and view months later the L3+

There is NO new release coming for a long long time numbnutz.

on their facebook page Bitmain are reporting that they are working on a new 7 nm ASIC.

Yeah we have been aware of their roadmap for some time, but no actual specs or release date has been announced for Bitmain's next btc miner.

Fuzzy, check out the november 10 post on bitmain facebook. It says 7nm is under development. So, is it possible?

7nm is kinda alot better than 16nm? It is less than half the size.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

7nm mining is not possible to happen in Q1 or Q2 2018, even TSMC or Samsung are still struggle to bring their 7nm to commercial production. If either TSMC or Samsung do successfully produce commercial production, the 7nm wafer will go to APPLE, snapdragon 1st.

Note: Bitmain purchase 16nm wafer currently from TSMC for their antminer s9.

most probably 10nm chip for their next gen antminer same like ebang E10.

correct me if i am wrong. tq

I know this is kind of a messed up thing to say, but I would personally really like them to release this S11. That way I could get my hands on 1 or 2 and really make some cash. It would put me at an advantage, which I sorely need as I'm already at a disadvantage to all the people who got into mining/cryptocurrencies before me. I'm not saying I DESERVE a break, but I'd take one where I could get one. Tongue That said, I do hate seeing people get shafted out of money and I'd hate for people to feel like they didn't get their money's worth if they just bought the S9 and then the S11 was released.

TSMC , the foundry that makes ASICS for most of these companies is already on to 7nm process logic coming to market now... but taping out/ramping a 7nm part with solid yield isn't going to be that easy or cheap... ... just saying.. these guys are going to stick with 10nm or 13nm for the time being if they want to maximize their own profit.

The only large scale manufacturing happening now with cost effective ( 300mm) 12 inch wafer - is 13nm.... anything else is considered "specialty" and is an order of magnitude more expensive..

There are rumors that it might be released during the 1st Qtr of 2018, source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7e909x/should_we_expect_antminer_s11_in_the_early_2018/

Yet, we can't rely on those as most rumors fail to predict the real outcome. I keep visiting Bitmain site for any news or updates so that I will be included in the list of early birds that will purchase upon its release. Well, my money is sleeping for ages and couldn't purchase an S9 since S11 is coming. I'm just hoping that it will be released sooner than expected.

There is no way the s-11 shows until someone sells a miner that can do 12th with 950 watts

or 15th with 1100 watts.

This  is a very simple economic issue not a gear issue.

Bitmain can sell the s-9 at 700 to 800 plus shipping and turn a profit.

So until a competitor sells a kick ass machine  they have zero need to build a more efficient miner then the s-9.

What would a big miner with low power  cost buy a 15th at 1200 watts

for 3000  or a 13th at 1400 watts for 1000

they buy the s-9.  So basically we just won't see a better miner from bitmain for sale until  someone comes out with a really good miner in the 0.06 or 0.07 watt per gh area.

But you can't design and produce a new miner overnight. Bitmain will lose truckloads of money if they are reactive like that and let a competitor get ahead for a few months. They do have a mining operation too, so if they are smart they will produce a new more efficient miner asap for themselves. By keeping it internal, they can maximize mining profit, and let the competitors invest in an "S9 killer". As soon as competitors start trying to sell their miner, the S11 batch comes out for sale, what a kill Smiley
I'm not saying they'll do this, just that it looks like a better move than sitting on their hands and waiting to be hunted down. Now that I read your message again I see you didn't say they won't produce it, you say we won't see it, do you agree they may do what I think?

hey notsofuzzy, id really love to hear your insight on the company putting out a 10nm miner. i know you said there is no way any company is putting out a 10nm miner in q1 2018 since 10nm process can only work in low power devices like phones.. are they just scamming? or has something changed? d

Semiconductor processes aren't shrinking at the rate they used to be..

Welcome to the effect of Quantum Mechanics on semiconductors - and the impending end of the very long run of Silicon being the primary material for use in semiconductors.

It says a lot that both Intel AND IBM have stated "10nm is the end of the road for pure silicon", and that IBM has specifically stated they are moving to a mixed Silicon/Germanium wafer for their 7nm development work.

I have to wonder how long even that mixed wafer stuff is going to last, and what will come after that - if ANYTHING - for semiconductors - and how long it's going to take.

And the important question is "Can it whistle IN KEY?" - all miners can whistle.

Oh no, I beg to differ, S9 is the king of the bitcoin whistlers. To exceed expectations there the S11 has to be able to blow your eardrums. We'll leave it to Canaan to emit shy in key whistles for twice the price Smiley

I would not be shocked if Bitmain moved to Samsung's "10nm" process for their S11 model, since TSMC seems to be a fair bit behind the curve right now (and the TSMC "7nm" process is going to be very very close on performance to the current Samsung and Intel "10nm" processes) while Samsung seems to be actually in production (abet small-scale so far) on their 10nm process.

I do have some question if a process designed for "low power applications" like smartphones is going to handle the high-power-density requirement of a cryptocoin mining ASIC well.
