Actually, there is no big issues with security of Ethereum same as other blockchain implementations. Blockchain has strong cryptographics methods in core so all issues may exist only in case of human's mistakes. To understand what am I talking about, google: Parity's frozen millions

True but wouldn't a truly secure platform not allow for these mistakes in the first case?

the situation with parity, some  doubts about todays security of ETH are in my mind.
but they gave strong team and community on board so the with solve this one day))
