In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Yes, it is.
Mining any coin is profitable until and unless you own the hardware and the electricity cost are not off the roof.
But the question you should ask if it is worth it?
No, mining with CPU is so 2010 and it won't mine substantial amount compared to GPUs.
You can still give CPU only coins a try.
