So, I have only been CPU mining with an older Dell Vostro 200 (only upgrade was to RAM, otherwise its factory). Im mining in Pool-X and also mining BBQ coins in Silverwolf and Dig's ltcoin.net

All of the sudden my computer got real quiet last night. When I would start my miner up via the terminal it would immediately start making a "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound and the CPU monitor would jump to 100%

Now the "vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise is gone. But the hash rate is the same. CPU fan and exhaust fan are operating just fine. What the heck used to make that noise and should I be concerned after months of it doing that and suddenly stopping? I thought it might have been the fan on my power supply but I just cant tell.

This computer is really quiet...always has been. Except when mining. So for months I have been used to hearing that noise. Now that it is gone I am really worried.

 Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS-everything seems cool too. CPU is cool, all heatsinks on motherboard are not really hot. And nothing came unplugged

Sometimes you can get some bad vibrations and resonances when the fan spins rapidly, which is rather noisy. Small changes (sometimes a slap against the case) can fix this. So it's perfectly possible that your fan caused noisy vibrations initially and now something shifted which has stopped these vibrations from occurring. If your temperatures and hashrate are the same that they were before, then there's nothing to worry about.

Hmmm.
When my kids were smaller, it was always a bad sign when they were suddenly really quiet... Better check to see what your computer is up to :-)
