Hello. Maybe this is a dumb question... But, in your opinion, what's the best ALT to trade at exchanges? Or do you prefer trade only BTC? Share your thoughts.

Ethereum is pretty stable and probably number 2 after BTC in pair trades.
Now a good alt to invest in ? Well, i invested in NEO and optimistic about it seeing all the innovations coming for it but well... market is hard to predict.

Universal answer - those, which has the biggest trade volume. The bigger volume, less whale affects to the price. And coin become more predictable.

It's just like asking what certain item is best to manufacture or what certain niche is best to have a business on. It depends on the person, in this case, it depends on the trader. Some people prefer to trade coins with higher circulating supply, some prefer with lower; some people prefer coins with higher market cap, some people prefer lower.
Me personally though, IOTA. I trade multiple coins though, it's just that I had higher success with IOTA.

I did trade other crypto currency online not only bitcoin. I remember an alternative coin which is an Ethereum based token named Trackr, my cousin do not know how to sell his token so he let me sell it onlline since I have an experience to it, I do not know now but it's price is pumping the time we sell it, my cousin needed the money the reason he can't hold it longer.

If someone suggest exact name of coins, the person should been a millionaire already, if he isn't then don't believe his suggestion. While coming to serious note, Crypto trading isn't simple enough to create thread in forum, listen to few suggestions and invest money in them. Rather you need to be more diligent. Best way to make some quick profit is through following news. For example, currently Dash is planning 2MB fork, hence DASH prices may shot up soon. Other than that, you can follow certain big pump/dump groups but be sure not to invest all your bucks there. Just some bits for quick profit.

Really it depends on what your trading style is and what your skills are. For me I like to look for smaller market cap coins which have more potential for big gains (2x or more) whereas for others they look for stable and established coins and hope to make only smaller percentages but with greater predictability and less risk.

Thank you all for the points.
I was planning to find a pair for not very long trades. Max. 1 week to take the profit or less than that.

my understanding is that the requirement to make gains in trading as a currency that is not stable and that it fluctuates a lot and often.
If you look at the charts of the old reliables, ethereum, dash, litecoin, monero they are quite stable. yest they do rise and fall but not DRAMATICALLY and OFTEN.
look at the low value currencies like OMG, QTUM and EOS for example they can rise by 100% in 48 hours.
those are just examples and my 2c's

This is not a dump question at all and it will never be though people are asking it many times in this forum. This question is always news because there are so many changes in the alt coin industry and so many new coins are coming everyday. With the alarming rate of the alt coin I think it is obvious for everyone to get confused where to invest really. Well for me I have successful portfolio of alt coin which includes ripple, monero, zcash, Ethereum, and newly added one Social Coin. The former one might be well known to you and keeping them for long time has got great potential of popping up. Well, the last coin that is social coin has got recent recognition in the community and it is going very stable for now. Its project is being released in the first quarter of 2018 which will pump the prices to sky. So better be watching that coin for extra loads of profit. :-)

almost all of the altcoins are good options for trading, you just have to know "how" and "when" for each of them so that you can make the most out of them. the "when" is actually the most important part. altcoins are mostly manipulated and get pumped and dumped a lot. that means if you get in before the pump ends you can make a lot of profit and if you get in too late you will become a bag holder losing a lot of money. this is the part which most people miss and that leads them to lose money or buy something and become a bag holder and that practically traps their money in something for a very long time until that thing is pumped again or is dumped hard enough for them to give it up.

Trading only bitcoins is profitable because we are seeing every day it will fluctuate minimum $100 plus. But the investment is very high you can have the capacity to invest big amount and take a risk with that amount then you can try bitcoin trading. Or else altcoin trading is best.

I think Bitcoin is good for middle and long-term investment. But altcoins are good for speculating. As they can change its price instantly in a few minutes. You only need to do the "simplest" thing - know when the price will bump or dump.

Check for those alts which have a good community like Civic or Neo, I do trade them both and for longer term they are a great asset. You can also try to take advantage of BTC and BCH fight and make some money.

If you have trade coin in addition to bitcoin the whole altcoin will trade well. You should focus on those low value coins of 1000-2000 sts which are better when you choose high value coins.
