In a short way, ICO works when a team make a new project and new coin. You can buy their coin, or join their project so you can get some coin. Someday, you can sell their coin in the market, and gain money.

When a team has idea with the project, they provide initial coin offering (ICO) for those who are interested in. What is the difference buying coins during ICO and after ICO? If coins are bought during the ICO it gives buyers some advantages like bonuses or some discounts.

Create projects that solve problems and have great business potential ==> Project & business plan ==> Create a website, whitepaper, roadmap to provide information about the project ==> Started ICO and after ICO the team will work on the planned project.

Initial Coin Offerings is  an alternative form of crowdfunding which is out of  the traditional financial system. The model help a lot of successful projects and companies get the funding required to start their business.

ICO which stands for Initial Coin Offering is quite similar to IPO (Initial Public Offering) for stock market, which means a form of crowdfunding  to attract investors about their products and services or their projects that they are going to build, like a power utility project where a token of a cryptocurrency was used as a form of exchange of buying or paying a utility instead of fiat form.ICO are very popular for a startup company but due to its widely abused by some scammers some countries implement regulation about ICO.

ICO is the crowdfunding of the blockchain.

People show their projects, ask for investors and investments. Some people will believe in what the dev built, and will invest money, to let them grow. Then, the coin will take value or not. That's like in life, some projects will fail, some other will raise !

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing good there. I want to know that how does ICO works? And after ICO what will they do? Please kindly answer me.

Thank you and forgive me if i did any mistake.

The group of people unites and takes a decision to develop a project that is unique (in their opinion). In ideal, this project must be beneficial to all.

They organize an ICO and persuade people investing into their project to get bonuses in future. Each investor gets the so-called tokens. These tokens can be further exchanged for some services of the company, products or even crypto.

The ICO coins are shared between those, who joined the project and invested into it also.

In a nutshell, it is a brilliant new method of crowdsourced fundraising. Although it is specifically used for blockchain startups today, many companies will likely explore its usage in 2018.
