I hear people on this forum saying hodl instead of hold... but I think it means something more, amirite?

no, it doesn't mean anything more than just "hold".
This new word ('HODL') came out from a drunk guy who many years ago here on bitcointalk who suggested to not selling Bitcoins even if price went down.

no, it doesn't mean anything more than just "hold".
