5. click "export keys list"
6. Select "Address String", "Private key (Plain Base58)", "Include unused (Address Pool)", "Omit spaces in key data" ....."
What does the address string look like? and where does it go in electrum. Video's I have watched use old versions of electrum so I can't follow instructions.
That looks like one of my posts... and I think you're misunderstanding what it is saying... and you obviously haven't actually attempted to follow the instructions. If you had you would know that "Address String", "Private Key (Plain Base58)" etc, are "check boxes" that you can either tick or untick to select various options, like this:
As for Electrum. You don't want to put the "Address String" into Electrum. If you do that, you'll create a "watching only" wallet that will be able to SEE the coins and addresses, but will NOT be able to spend them!
You need to use the "Private key (Plain Base58)" values displayed in the text box in Armory after you follow the steps. Then in Electrum, create a new wallet:
"File -> New\Restore -> (give the wallet a name) -> Import Bitcoin Addresses or Private Keys":
Then copy/paste all the "Private Key (Plain Base58)" values into the box:
NOTE: The Private keys, should all start with a "5", a "K" or an "L"
I have read sweeping is different than moving.
No, sweeping and moving are effectively the same thing. You are creating a transaction that sends coins from one address (old wallet) to another address (in new wallet). IMPORTING is different, you are effectively adding the private key/bitcoin address into the new wallet... so instead of moving coins, you are just letting the new wallet control the old address.
