Hi...I notice that all my addresses in my Trezor begin with, in the main with a 3. I now understand that such addresses are particular to a multisig wallet. My Trezor is not multisig. Any idea why?

Thanks

All new segwit addresses start with a '3', i think. It doesn't have to be a multisig address Smiley

Damn. It is quite humiliating to confess about it but, I am also wondering about the same issue. I am curious as to why all my new addresses start with three. When my 1st didn't. I don't think it is a problem though, but still, i just can't help but worry. I guess it's because i tend to become too over paranoid when it comes to my investments. That is why i am worrying i will be watching this thread for some good answers from other people.

Addresses beginning with three are P2SH addresses.

In this case, your TREZOR is using it for accepting SegWit transactions.

TREZOR has SegWit transactions on new wallets by default.  You can also continue to use your "legacy" wallets (in which you have P2PKH addresses beginning with a 1), if you don't wish to use SegWit.

If you are running the latest version of Trezor firmware which is 1.5.2 it already supports Segwit and segwit accounts uses P2SH address that starts with 3 but it is not a multi signature, while the legacy account still starts with 1. If you don't like to use Segwit accounts or address you can still use the old legacy address. But I think Segwit account have more faster and cheaper transaction fees than Legacy so better use the new one. Take time to read this https://blog.trezor.io/rolling-out-trezor-wallet-segwit-segregated-witness-5700269debc5
