With all the drama around 2x now over and BCC seeming to take away some of the market from BTC, is BTC still king and still set to rise to $7k this year? Thoughts?

Hard to know...seem price will stuck around 7K or worst below 5K if still can't solve network problem. There still 90K unconfirmed transactions till know.

I believe it already did on some exchanges.  Tongue

Yes. After the smoke clears from this attack, I am confident it will resume its steady rise back to $8K

Highly doubt it.  This really reminds me the first time Bitcoin shot up in value and everyone was losing their minds cause it went from 20 dollars to 1200 dollars pretty fast.  Then it corrected itself pretty hard.  Went down to about 200 per coin.  This seems very similiar to the last time.

This is what i was also worrying about this past few days. I had an estimation of bitcoin reaching 8000 dollars or more at the end of this year a few weeks ago. But now, i think 8000 dollars is pretty much a long shot. Because looking at the current issues of bitcoin itself, it really has some bad things going on that can hnder it from increasing price. But still, i believe in bitcoin, it maybe not his 2 months, but this year was bitcoin's. And probably, the next year will also be bitcoin's.

I can't see how it can possibly rise while transactions take so long.

Until this is resolved I would sell as I think there is more risk then positive at the momet.

Of course if it is resolved then yes, but I can't see that happening this year.

I personally think and hope bitcoin will have its price above 9k$ in the end of this year even though there are many problem between BTC and BCH. Thats situation should be temporary and can be fixed in few weeks.

Yes, BCT is still king. I firmly believe this, let time prove it. I bought all the bitcoin, a BCH did not buy, I believe BTC. This year to 8K is sure to be achieved.

There was a rumour about BCH(BCC) that "Bitcoincash is the real bitcoin" .That's why BCH gained a huge investment in a short period of time but within some hour the reality exposed and BCH got dumped(but still it is at great price). BTC gaining back its price now and I think 8k$ is just matter of time.

It could be more than $8k before the year ends. It just happened that the fork is declined and cause the delay for the price growth of bitcoin. Bitcoin still prevails and those another versions of bitcoin like bitcoin cash will just be a trash.

It would really be doubtful if Bitcoin can reach even $8,000 within this year considering the damage done by the attack orchestrated by people behind BitcoinCash, aimed to take the position occupied by Bitcoin right now. I am sure this recent attack can never be the last, certainly these people's greed has already consumed their judgement. There can be more mayhem in the next few weeks. All of these twists and turns can stress out the market and can mean that Bitcoin would lose some of the ongoing interest bestowed unto it.

The high-level of optimism can be back if the Bitcoin network can solve the immense clogging happening again this time. This had been the perennial problem that affected us all and so far I still have to read a news where a clear-cut and workable solution has been forwarded...maybe our Bitcoin decision makers are taking some rest enough for the dusts of the ongoing drama to settle first.

As an ordinary guy also banking on the future of Bitcoin, am hoping that once and for all this big problem can soon be solved so Bitcoin can really live up to its glowing potential of becoming the fist globally recognized digital currency.

Interesting.. I have to say I'm skeptical. I haven't seen a good argument for why bitcoin can still reach $8k.

Strongly feel It won't reach that much by this year end, may be in the next year may reach the designated value mentioned.
