Airdrop is a free new coins that are given from a new project to fill a short form like your bitcointalk profile link and ID, twitter link,email address and most important your Ether wallet.You have to just join their telegram link or follow them on twitter.some airdrop ask to pay little ether in their wallet but i prefer to avoid this type of airdrop, i only prefer free airdrop. As said above, airdrop is about getting some free coins before the currency is officially released. It is done to advertise the coin and attract attention. Yet there probably are cases of airdrop scams when organizers ask you to send them your private keys to the wallet (say, eth wallet) and they just make you lose money. Another scam way is about sending some coins to ensure them that you own them and then they are supposed to send you a lot more back but they don't. I think money is free very rarely, so if you're not good at understanding some safety measurements needed not to get scammed - avoid airdrops.

Airdrop is a free distribution of token in an airdrop all you have to do is to give your wallet adress and follow other easy and simple task like join Telegram group, Enter your email, Follow on Facebook/Twitter,...
But never send money to and adress or give your private wallet key in a airdrop form, you will lose your money especially if you give your private key.
Stay away and signal every single airdrop who ask you your private key it's a simple way to empty your wallet
If you follow my advice you will receive token frequently and no one will touch your Ethereum, but for more security use other Ethereum wallet for airdrop(Send 5$ in your second Ethereum wallet for fee on Etherdelta)

I've read in an article that airdrop also there is a problem in airdrop that requires participation of downloading wallet like wallet qt.dan wallet like that there is usually a virus that can take tokens on eth that are on the same pc, so be careful in following the airdrop .

Airdrop is basically is a giveaway of new coins by the dev of that coin just for increasing the community and gaining popularity. The dev can give the coins for free or for some small task. It is just a marketing strategy used by dev to attract more people and expand their community. It is really helpful for the devs and beneficial for the people.

Airdrops mean free coins or free tokens, for a small effort(or free money). It is eventually filling out forms and doing simple tasks like sharing posts or contents to social media sites, following pages or groups, joining telegram groups or channels, registering on their sites, forums, and a whole lot more. But all of those do not exist on one airdrop, just pieces of what i have mentioned for every airdrop form. Now it isn't dangerous if you know what you are doing. Tip is to stay away from airdrops that require you to "donate". Although some really are legit, most of the time, only scams require donations for airdrops. Second, if they want your private keys, it is a scam. Oh, amd don't forget to be careful on clicking links, because it might lead you to phishing sites.
