It looks like Bitcoin won against Bitcoin Cash (for now)... what are the Bitcoin Core devs doing to improve bitcoin without a fork ?

We had segwit1x, but what next ...... something needs to be done as the transaction fee to more 0.1 BTC is at $50 for me, its ridiculous.

The Bitcoin Core developers have done all that they need to do.  What you need to do is use a SegWit-supporting wallet.

If you're complaining about the high fees and you're still not using SegWit yet, the high fees are (at least partially) your fault, and you will have to provide some good justification as to why you are not using SegWit.

SegWit adoption appears to have plateaued at approximately 10%, so it's having very little effect on fees as it is.

Another part of the Bitcoin Core roadmap is intended to be Schnorr signatures and signature aggregation.

0.10 bitcoins per transaction? it is impossible, maybe you are talking about other coin. But bitcoin cash is not charging more than 0.002 bcash for tx, it is less than a dollar i guess.
You should try to use a wallet who is adapted to segwit, otherwise, you are going to pay a lot of money for fees. If you look at coinbase, they are now asking for more than five dollars per transaction, and this is insane.
Maybe those wallets who are accepting segwit are now charging less than four dollars (a little bit less) per transaction.

Hopefully thinking long term on handling large volumes better. It just isn't ready for the big time, yet. That's ok, it is still relatively early on in the scheme of things.

Adding a protocol layer on top of Bitcoin to allow for non-linear scaling by using Bitcoin's often overlooked scripting capabilities:

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/understanding-the-lightning-network-part-building-a-bidirectional-payment-channel-1464710791/

Then there's also this approach, which may improve Bitcoin's scalability even further:

https://www.tik.ee.ethz.ch/file/a20a865ce40d40c8f942cf206a7cba96/Scalable_Funding_Of_Blockchain_Micropayment_Networks%20(1).pdf

The latter is still merely a whitepaper, but as far as I know the first lightning network implementations are already being tested on Testnet.

right, the current transaction fee is very high.
this almost makes us confused to make transactions.
is this because segwit fails and has an impact on transaction cost?
very worrying when we rely heavily on bitcoin transactions but all this is becoming completely confusing

You always have an option to choose the lesser amount for fees but with longer processing time right. We should always keep ion mind that as a part of the increasing price per coin demand is also increasing so that means more transactions are made every time. No one expect for the rapid increase on these things maybe that is the reason why transaction fee are getting higher.

0.1BTC is $50? Nice. I'll buy all of your bitcoin off of you right now. No questions asked. Idgaf what kind of taint is associate deity these bad boys.

Well how many devs are there, like dozens or a hundred and something? They're all doing whatever they want cuz it's open source lol.
