Which Altcoin has potential to overtake BTC as primary cryptocurrency?
I think Ethereum can dominate, but I doubt there are many other contenders that would overtake BTC. Any thought?

I don't have an answer for you, but if you look at any other major innovators in history you'll see that just because they were the first doesn't necessarily mean they'll be the dominant player in the long run.
Look at Blackberry, arguably they were the first company to come out with the smartphone, but Apple took over and now Blackberry is a distant memory. Same with Kodak, they were dominant in photography and with the invention of digital cameras they were non existent.
The same could happen with Bitcoin as well. I feel that the high transaction fees and slow transaction processing could be the fall of Bitcoin. As more people start to take crypto seriously then another player with lower fees and faster processing could end up dominating. Only time will tell.

None! For me no altcoin can replace bitcoin or can overtake bitcoin from being primary crypto currency because as far as I know the value of all other alts depends on the market gap of bitcoin just in case bitcoin will be replace maybe due to lack of supply to sustain the market and another alt will offer such supply that is more than bitcoin has. But it will take so long to get implemented

I suppose that within 5 years BTC will be TOP-1 for sure. If it won't be dumped when every second ICO project will be crashed in 1-2 years then BTC will remain the king of crypto for much longer than only 5 years...

I assume there are some altcoins in market which are currently selling for high rates and of course are potentially strong among hundreds of other altcoins. But when the matter comes to competence with bitcoin, people say bitcoin is dominating over the whole economy of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is treated preliminarily as more important asset than others, no chance for altcoin to overcome.

There are many better projects than BTC at the moment, because the cryptocurrency market hasn't been large compared to traditional financial markets, so most investors believe in BTC. In the future, projects with good platform and good products will become competitors of BTC.

if in my opinion there is no altcoin that will be able to compete with bitcoin. so far bitcoin has become the foundation and foundation for altcoin. Bitcoin also serves as a pretext for all altcoin

These threads pop up every other day, you're not going to really get much of a consolidated answer other than, most likely, Ethereum. Personally I think BCC is going to take off.

I doubt it. There is no altcoin that can overtake BTC as crypto. But lets see in the next few years if Ethereum can Overtake BTC since it is the next to bitcoin

I think the altcoin that can replace the bitcoin in the future is Ethereum a much smaller fee and a faster confirmation time than bitcoin.
and besides Ethereum I think Raiblocks and IOTA can replace bitcoin in the future. Raiblocks with almost instant transaction and zero fee IOTA also with has zero fee that's the 3 altcoins what I think can replace bitcoin sometimes in the future.

I think that Bitcoin Cash maybe replaces BTC to become a primacy Cryptocurrency. As you know, Bitcoin has many disadvantages about time transaction, fee and block size. Therefore, if the devs can't improve them, Bitcoin cash will replace Bitcoin.

None of them. While BCC might actually do it short-term, such an occurrence is bound to be reversed very quickly.
You'd have to reimplement the whole BTC ecosystem for your contender. That's a pretty tall order.

I think the best contenders in order of likelihood are Bitcoin Cash, Dash, LiteCoin, and New Economy Movement. Bitcoin Cash has powerful backers including Roger Ver and Bitmain. Dash has a sound governance system in place and is expanding to 2MB block sizes. Litecoin is a dark horse choice, but has much faster transaction times and lower costs than Bitcoin. In fact LTC may become the de facto medium for day to day transactions: groceries, gas, etc. There are lots of smaller platforms and recent ICOs with pronouncements that BTC is already obsolete, I don't believe any of those claims. Bitcoin is entrenched and benefits from first mover network effects.

I would agree that ethereum certainly has the potential to do so, other than that I am not too sure of many others. Obviously some forked coin such as bitcoincash could do if they take the development in a better direction but other than that I really struggle to think of many others for now.

In my opinion Ethereum is the only altcoin that can replace the bitcoin in the future. Much much less fee and also it is very fast. Everybody knows that ethereum has better technology. I made investment to ethereum and I will wait for at least one year.
