Haven't "play" with BTG, but you can check their progress on Coinmarketcap, and so far, HITBTC has the highest volume.

I know about volume. Does HitBTC have BTG deposits open?
Bitfinex also has volume. You can exchange your BTC for BTG back and forth but you can not withdraw or deposit BTG.

So you are basically speculating on the price. What I would like to do is exchange my BTG (due to holding BTC prior to 24th of October).

The question is "Can I deposit my BTG to an exchange in order to exchange it for BTC?"

Hitbtc listed bitcoin gold some few weeks ago. I haven't been at the exchange in recent. You may take a look at hitbtc and see for yourself if they are still trading bitcoin gold

You can deposit BTG to HitBTC, click to wallets and click "+" and you'll see your BTG deposit address for your deposit. Once you deposit your BTG, you can also start your trading instantly.

What wallet did you use? I managed to get some BTG into Coinomi wallet but can not send it to the address that HitBTC provides.

Can you import private keys into that client?
How do you know it is safe?
I presume it takes whole 160 something GB to download the chain?

yes you can import keys like in any other Full Node Crypto-Client.
for safety reasons is it always recommended to move your bitcoins to a new encrypted wallet and import keys that should only have some btg on it.
yes you need the whole blockchain.
here i wrote a little tutorial for the official btg-client https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2412870.0

That condition is already satisfied as it was needed for claiming Bitcoin Cash, so I guess I could give it a go.

I've heard it doesn't work if you use the QR code. I typed in the address and that worked fine.

What is the link to the BTC/BTG pair on hitbtc? A scamcoin on a scam exchange is no surprise and I'm not going to make an account there. I checked the market list and do not see it listed so whats the link?

I seen this link only https://hitbtc.com/exchange/BTG-to-BTC

Haven't "play" with BTG, but you can check their progress on Coinmarketcap, and so far, HITBTC has the highest volume.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-gold/#markets
it seems that only HITBTC provide this trading, if any chance to buy BTG, I will think again to buy it.

Thanks for the direct link, it wasn't listed on market page.

Funny behaviour from HitBTC. My first BTG deposit of 0.5 got credited very quickly, my second for 5 BTG still nothing after 21 confirmations.

Lets see how it resolves.
