Power Socket Question

I have a socket that I was thinking of using to run an S9 on. The socket reads NENA L14-50-R 50A 125/250V

Can I get an adapter to plug one of the Bitmain 1600W Bitmain APW3++ PSU into it or is the socket running too much power at 50A to be safe?

now to answer this question you asked.

50 amps are available at that plug

if you use 1500 watts at 240 volts for 1 antminer you are using 6.21 amps

you are correct to worry as a short in the psu could pull extra amps.

that what pdu's are used for they are fused and act as a saftey

When you do decide what PSU you are using you will also want to decide if you plan on growing to a few more miners at that receptacle. It will help you decide on the final size if the circuit.

The PDU Phil refers to is nice, I took his advice previously and grabbed a few, so I could grow into the space without adding receptacles or upgrading the circuitry beyond my 30 amps that are there.

You will also want to change the breaker that feeds that receptacle. Always best to keep the circuit breaker and receptacles rated the same.
