I doubt that people are running their 1080 Ti:s at 250w ?
I am thinking about building a 6 x 1080 Ti build but i think i need bigger a bigger psu. I have 1200w Strider psu:s laying around but i guess they wont handle this ? I am bulding it in a 4U server case so i only have space available for one psu.
I will probably just hook this miner up with Nicehash so the powerdraw will vary a bit.

I think you need a PSU with 1800w to run 6 1080ti gpu to your hardware it will work fine.. 1200w psu is not enough.. but i saw some ways to combine psu to other psu from youtube but i really don't know if its safe.. hash power i think around ETH 34MHs / OC LBRY 500MHs / Zcash 620 H/s This is not accurate it will be still depends in your own setup..

I have used two psu:s on large rigs before but that is possible in this server case build. I am probably going to relocate it at a data center further on. So i guess that i have to find a big ass psu.

It is used widely in data centers and it should keep your 6 GPU-s without problems. I would suggest to connect 2 x HX1200i PSU from Corsair but since it is not possible in your case go with the HP 2400 PSU. You can find it easily in Amazon or Ebay. Oh and I forgot keep your cards mining Zec as they can do up to 700 or more sol/s per second with a bit of overclocking. Lots of youtube videos to help you in that.

Do i still need a regular psu to power the system ? Don't believe you do but a 300 watt EVGA should a good option in case you decide to have everything as perfect as it can be. However with 1 PSU like that you should be able to power everything including the system together with the cards. Based on this link you don't need an extra PSU so why spend money in vain https://www.parallelminer.com/product/2400-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-efficiency-200-240v-up-to-24-gpu/And the PSU is a delta used to power up HP Servers

You will need a Pico PSU in order to power the motherboard + cpu + hardrive. The question is which 4U case are you using? If it's a Rosewill RSV-L4500 for example, then I don't think the huge Delta 2400W PSU can fit in this case.

Yes i noticed in the comments about that psu. "This is not an ATX power supply. It is not compatible with ATX multi voltage. You may use special adapter to power a motherboard with it, however, the motherboard will never control the PSU state on/off/restart/shutdown. To answer your question, NO you can’t. However, with an ATX adapter you can power ten of them!" So i guess that this is what i also need: https://www.parallelminer.com/product/180watt-max-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-ditch-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/I am about to customize this case: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Inter-Tech-Case-19--IPC-4U-4129-N_1111818.htmlI hope i will get it to fit

Most of my 1080 ti cards are running 180-200 watts for cooling reasons, but the Aorus in my gaming machine (it's the only card in that box) IS set at 250 watts - it's also the ONLY one in an A/C environment, and the case it's in has good airflow so it stays plenty cool.
The most EFFICIENT point for these cards seems to be around 150 watts (60% on most models) but I've not tried to "fine tune" a lot on any of mine yet as my power cost is low enough that I get better return by pushing them harder.

1200 watt is way too less even if you decrease the powerlimit better spend a little more and get those 1600 watt psu or use 5 gpus nstead of all 6 , Since black friday is coming you might be able to snug a nice deal on the psu any ways do share the details if you end up making this closed server build, I was thinking of making too .

To Hash or not to Hash, that's what the question

I had recently build one for someone, 6x1080ti on open air frame, we had to use 3 power suplies - 2x1200W +1x800W The 800 Watter is a little bit an overkill, but we just happen to have one around. Thing draws almost 2KW at the wall, depending on settings, also generates a lot of heat, so be sure to have it cooled adequately. Pico would be great addition for it, but it would work without it. What i have noticed, none of 1200W psu can handle all 6 cards, so you will have to split them or use more powerful PSU.

mine are running 68% tdp, drawing 170w each. 1200W PSU is not enough, even if it was, you wouldn't have enough connections. 1080ti is 6+8 pin or 2*8 pin mine are running 2*1000W psu + Add2psu

1600 watt single should be enough. Just don't run them at full power. Leave 20 percent headroom so 1600 watt ps try to Target 1280 watt Max total system. So running 6x GPU at 80 tdp is 1200 watt plus 100 watt for system. That should make a single 1600 watt ps work

It's very dangerous setup. It should have at least 15-20% reserve of power supply. This setup will properly work if you downvolt your GPUs to 200W power consumption each. But nobody knows the future what algos will appear and what power consumption they will require. So should not save on PSUs

I'm running my 1080ti with 250W and even higher then that sometimes. I have HP 2450W server power supply. and one Gold 500W normal power supply for risers and mainboard. Everything I working smooth.

Thanks everyone for input. I will order the 2400w psu listed a bit up here + ATX kit. That PSU will power the system, risers, gpus and fans. I think it will be more then enough with power to spare. If i colocate it to a data center i will replace the 120mm fans with heavy duty Delta fans. This is what i will do with the case: http://intertech-mining.blogspot.se/I am also thinking about building a 6 x Vega 64 rig with the same spec. That rig will run at my apartment due to less heat generated. I got electricity included in my rent so that rig can fly under the radar there.

my Zotac AMP Extreme @ 100PL eats more then 300W from the wall, so it depend on the bios and vendors I know that Asus Stricx OC can do more then 300W as well, and Msi Lighting and some of EVGA cards

I will probably go with Strix cards. Even if they pull 300w each that 2400w psu should be able to handle it. Or else i will just lower the TDP a bit to find a healthy spot.
