Hi guys.
I dont know if this is the right place for this as I'm mining litecoin using cgminer but overnight it seems like perhaps one of my cards got too hot and this morning was listed as DEAD (two card setup 7950 frozr's). I tried scaling back settings and while that particular GPU now does something it only goes as high as 82kh/s while the other reaches 600 kh/s.
I thought it was a problem with the GPU so I switched it with another 7950 (brand new, waiting for riser cables before I can use three at once) but the problem still persists. So I was thinking it was software related so I uninstalled the graphics driver and reinstalled as before (setup as per cryptobadger
http://www.cryptobadger.com/2013/04/build-a-litecoin-mining-rig-windows/ ), also I reinstalled cgminer on top of the existing version I had and the problem is still there!
I'm so confused. Did I wreck something? Could the heat have done something to the motherboard perhaps? (the card that failed was only running at 82/83 degrees) It cant be a problem with the GPU as the one I replaced it with is doing the same, undoing the overclock to stock settings doesnt do anything, reinstalling the graphics driver doesnt do anything. What am I missing???
