I'm afraid that mining is not recommended for you with little knowledge about mining, you should only engage in mining when you are well informed.

Mining isn't rocket science, so I don't really agree.  In fact, the point of mining is that anyone can and everyone should do it to split the load around.  I would, however, advise against mining bitcoin without significant investment (and therefore knowledge).  Start with mining a crypto that uses your GPU.

Ethpool has an FAQ (http://ethpool.org/faq) to help you get started.  That and a quick google search will net you plenty of people telling you how to do it.  PS.  If you want to discuss altcoin mining further, start a thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0.

For a profitable situation, two things in my opinion:
1. A decent $/kWh price (and low overhead costs for a large mining operation)
2. Miners you can get at a decent price (total out of pocket money, this includes shipping, duties or other charges).

I would say don't bother with cloud mining. There are so many scam out there, and the ones that aren't can be tough to navigate for a profit.

Do a few Google searches regarding the coin you want to mine, inform yourself as much as you can. Make sure any pages you read are for 2016/2017 for relevant basic info.

You can check out the beginners section on the forum, then search through the hardware section tonsee what you want equipment is right for you.

Myself I bought a couple of used s5's to test the waters then upgrades once I decided mining was right for ne.

Good luck

I suggest you to using hardware mining that has multi-functions, such as GPU. So if you stuck or bored on mining, u can use it as computer part or maybe sell on on the market. How to start mining? don't be lazy, you can find "how to start mining on this forum". Good Luck!  Wink

Mining is the best option to make money in bitcoin platform. Please clear about your investment amount is needed to mine the bitcoin or else altcoins. Both will need a investment to start with it.
GPU and ASIC are the hardware type you can choose to start mining. All the thing is working to produce the hash power. If you have more hash rate contains equipment you will be able to mine the more blocks.
Your profit will be more than expected as the hash power is more.

What you need to do is figure out your budget that you have available to buy hardware. Then you can look into Canaan, Bitmain, Ebit, or Pangolin/Whatsminer.  These are the current options available for BTC hardware. They all have threads on the forum so read through those to help you decide on hardware.

Once you know what you would like to use, find out if it can be profitable with your local electricity rates. punch all that into a profitability calculator. The final decision is up to you whether it si worth it or not.

Here is the beginner section it is useful for getting started.
