Seeing as there are so many airdrops coming out and 99% of them are a scam with very few being legitimate, I decided to create this list help noobs who have trouble differentiating the two. I would also like to say, if you are not sure about a project DO NOT INVEST! Please do not take my advice as investment advice either; I am just trying to help give people who are a little less experienced in the crypto world by providing a little more information.

I will create a list of scam airdrops and a small list of legitimate airdrops. Please feel free to comment so that we can add more to the list and make it as accurate as possible.

Scams:

Satoshi - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439901.0
Ethereum Ultimate - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2410677.0
Ethereum Cash - ANN thread now locked by scummy dev
Ethereum Platinum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2388294.0
eBitcoinGold - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2281255.0
Litecoin Gold - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2297409.0
Ethereum Green - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2333742.0
Litecoin Classic [scam version: released about a week or two ago] - thread has been deleted for some reason

There are many more scummy airdrops but I don't have the time to check them all. Please feel free to comment any scams and I will add them.

Legitimate:

Litecoin Classic [not scam version: forking the litecoin network] - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2408752.msg24656924#msg24656924
Netcash [white paper looks extremely good] - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2399717.0

See In Most of the Airdrops newbies are not allowed to participate and those particular airdrops are not meant for Newbies. Please do check the conditions before filling any Airdrop if there is mentioned the stake value of Newbie or not. If there is not mentioned and then also anyone fill the form then it will be invalid as the company which is providing Airdrop also checks the bitcointalk's profile. So be careful before filling any Airdrop.

Thanks for the thread, this sort of thing is very useful. People definitely need to be careful with airdrops - some are legit, but some are scams that ask for your private key... never ever give away your private key, or your wallet could be emptied.

And there are some airdrops for bitcoins that require for you to give them your private key, i dont know why the people are giving their private keys to those scammy altcoins calling theirselves as "free airdrops" it is all bullshit.
Of course that once that the project decides to leave the scene, they will steal all the bitcoins, or tokens, or whatever is on the wallet that the people gave them the private key.
It is sad, but most of the airdrops are now scam, and there are more of them day by day, it is something that will never end.

That will be really helpful not only for the newbies but for the high rank members or experts in the field of crypto currecny. Even many experts are not sure which ICO or Airdrops are scam and which are legit as there is no way to know unless you have a very good technical knowledge of these things.

there are too many airdrops nowadays, i think it will get hard to follow them all. Especially when using this forum to do that, this is more of a database type of task.

anyway, i hope you will manage to make this airdrop madness little bit less messy

Exactly this. Some people just blindly give away their private keys without even thinking twice without understanding how important they actually are. The newbies tend to make these mistakes often since they wish to join the airdrops in some way or another to get some quick profit, but instead incur quick losses due to such silly mistakes. Also, never download any kind of wallets unless you are absolutely sure it is legit as you said.

Yes, people somehow get convinced by scammers that private keys are needed to send the money but it's obvious they are not. Another scam scheme was used by litecoin classic stated by the op. They asked people to send them some coins in advance to receive a lot more in the future. More sophisticated scamming can be done by sending e-mails which look a lot like legit ones, but say that from now on to access the wallet you need to log in on an upgraded website version or something. Then they see the password you enter on their fake copy and re-enter it on the real website and withdraw the money. I would say it's best for newbies not to join airdrops at all not to get scammed.

Nobody should be giving their private key to any site. Any airdrop that asks for a donation before they can receive tokens should be avoided as that is not an airdrop. Many airdrops supply a low amount of tokens so the holding value is less than the exchange fee.

And i have seen some airdrops that are asking for some money before joining them.
There is one who claims to be the real fork of ethereum who is asking for $20 in advance in order to join a weekly bounty of $50 each week, payed with their tokens of course.
It is very disgusting to see how many airdrops are in the market right now, and almost all the newbies are falling in those kind of free money situation because they are newbies on all this world.
I dont know why most of them are still online..

Hi there, its a generous move of you to create this thread. Much appreciate it. I would add WindCoin to the list of legitimate airdrops. Check: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2346147.0
The Website is not up yet, but it will come out in the coming days, the Whitepaper as well. The first round was conducted smoothly and on saturday the second round will happen. Please read the thread, evaluate and let me know what you think about it.

Thank you, very useful.
