One practical thing that worked for me was to write it down in the third person. Write as objectively as possible so you don't re-engage with the memory. I think about memories like fires. If you engage with the memory, you're adding fire to the memory. If you don't engage with it, you let the fire just burn out.

One way to forget someone is to find a replacement, because if we do not get a replacement then we will get stuck in the past and forget it for longer.

All you need is time. Time will cure anything. I don't know how old are you but if you were old enough you wouldn't be sad like this. And if you say this is the right way, you are in the right way. You'll never know what is next for you.. Wait and see..

That isn't true everyone feels differently. Age doesn't not guarantee anything. As far as the time curing everything that I can agree with unless you are the type that becomes fixated on things but in the case that you are not then there will be another there always is if you let it.

You don't really forget the past...u simply move on. Like it or not, that person was a part of your life and there was one or two good things about that person. That being said you need to first accept he is no longer a part of your life. Then look for activities to take your mind off him. The most important thing is time. Give it time and whatever memories you have of him will gradually be replaced by new and better ones.

to let go of love is very hard, but it's all there is a solution, it is important there is a desire to release him and start from small to big. for example .. for example delete a photo, throw away memories with him etc.
