Hi Folks...Has anyone faced any issues related to harmonics while mining with Bitmain miners using the Bitmain PSU's? Please share your thoughts whether you are running line to line or line to neutral. Thank you

Where are people picking up this off-the-wall crap to worry about? Some New Age sites blatherin on about the Evils of Smart meters?

For at least a decade all but the most cheaply made low power computer PSU's have power-factor compensation (PFC) in them that mitigates it. ergo no issues with odd-harmonics caused by how switching supplies work. Various countries Energy regulations now mandate PFC for all non-industrial power supplies rated more than 500W output. Now the lingering specter of high K-factor loads is a scare sell for more expensive transformers where they are no longer needed.

Thank you sir Smiley  Tongue That makes me feel very good.

I was just a little worried because I have heard that Dave Carlon's MegabigPower was shut down by the PUD because of harmonics issue.

PUD is a good acro for them. every so often you read unsettling things about them and their power allocation policies. Don't live there so don't really follow them. A while ago the buzz was about them actively discouraging high-power density users like data centers and mining farms - or at least ones without political clout. They claim it is 'taking advantage' of the low-cost power and takes away power availability to smaller people. Riiiiggghttt....

Anywho thing is, power factor issues - and if needed, suppressing harmonics - can be addressed at the main feed from the utility using capacitors and/or reactors. Every so often you will see them on power poles, look like a bank of rectangular boxes with HV terminals. If serious enough that the utility might care it is a 1-time fix with analysis of issue and then installing the correction for it.
