LendEdu commissioned a survey in November 2017 of 564 Americans who had invested in Bitcoin. While surveys have been done in the past to gauge the awareness of the general public about Bitcoin, this survey focused on American Bitcoin investors and their sentiments. We have come a long way from 2015, when 65% of Americans surveyed didn't know what Bitcoin was. The questions asked in the survey ranged from their reasons for investing in Bitcoin to when they would sell all their Bitcoins.
Today bitcoin hit 8020. Can we expect it to hit 3X end of this year?

Yeah, man, I read this too. Can you believe it? I can. But I'm surprised anyone can put a price on it. Hodl until you need the money, right? And hopefully by that time you can just buy what you need - whatever it is, everything that it is - directly with Bitcoin.
I look forward to the time when it's just plain easy to buy anything with Bitcoin.
At what price would you sell your bitcoin?

I spoke to couple of investor from early 2009 , those who so called bitcoin millionaire. Some are holding sinceit was less than $

If you don't need the money immediately, just wait until you absolutely need it. Definitely do not sell before we reach 5 digits. I think reaching 5 digits is a huge mental threshold for the currency and the community, so once we have that behind us, I'm thinking the only way the currency can go is up.

If they are planning to increase that kind of price i guess i will just have reserve to at least for this time. But i think that that would be too long because i need some money time to time and not just hodl it until that day comes.

I think that many people, regardless of nationality, are hoping to leverage Bitcoin and crypto as their retirement. Or a larger percentage of the retirement, anyway. I think that's why so many people HODL. People see the potential long term gains and aren't necessarily worried too much about it now. It is great to see it go up and fun to watch, but as of now it is just a fragment of what some people hope and likely believe it can get to.

So,its clear that they are going to hold bitcoins as a long term investment.More people having such an attitude is good for bitcoin because bitcoin price will remain a little bit stable during chaos instead of price facing a huge dip due to newbies selling it frequently due to panic and destabilizing the price.
I think that in future, more people would have that same attitude all over he world.Mostly,Bitcoin would be used as commodity for 95% and only 5% as currency

Yeah i had seen the article the op mentioned on here. Now things get a little more complicated when we think about holding versus spending. I for example had to fix the engine in my car right away. I did not want to wait 11 days till i got paid because i did not want to car pool. So the $600.00 engine repair i did and paid with bitcoin ended up costing me by todays value about $4000.00 . Honestly i would have preferred to get a payday loan to pay or i could just have waited 11 days lol.

That is why you need to plan for holding your coins because there's a vast of opportunities that is coming just by holding and this events will happen soon, we can't deny the fact that there are some emergency and situations that we badly needed a money and that will result for selling some or all of your btc, that's why you need to do an alternative methods like savings, working on a physical jobs, risking a portion of your btc to trading so that you will not gonna spend all of your sleeping btc on your cold storage pocket. Prevention is better than cure they've said.

3X is likely to end this year. This survey shows that more Americans now enter the bitcoin market, which is good news, but now bitcoin prices make people feel too fast, should pay attention to the risk of their own funds it?

I find these type of predictions rather humorous. If you actually find the news and read the article, the prediction was up to the cents of a dollar, which is funny. What kind of algorithmic mathetmatical model did he use to arrive to such a precise prediction?
But in any case, im sure $200,000 will be hit within the next decade, as bitcoin becomes the de-facto world currency reserve. USD is a scam, and gold's supply is unknown. Nothing can beat BTC as a global unit of account.

I gues bitcoin can hit something above $100k within 2 or 3 years. This year bitcoin increased like 1000%, if 2018 repeats it, we can have $80k within 1 year!

I plan to hold my coins till $1,000,000 but what are these words worth? Not much, regardless of who comes up with them. People will always have to deal with unexpected circumstances that leads to them having to cash out a good chunk of their coins, or they just do so because they couldn't handle themselves anymore, etc. Only those who kept holding their sub 2012 coins till now will be tough enough to withstand anything this market throws at them. Everyone entering now (especially the average joes) will never be able to fully keep their cool when this market tanks or pumps. It's not the same.

This might be possible, from the rate at which the price of bitcoin is rising now that mining companies are still mining, then think about when there will be now more blocks to mine bitcoin, what then will be the price. It might be possible that the price of bitcoin then will be over $196,000.

My question is, why stop at $196K? If I have hodl'd until $196K, I would be very reluctant to sell, since, why shouldn't it go up even more?

In my opinion 3X won't occur this year. Probably we will hit $10k and then after slow recovery end at $10k (maybe in Feb-May 2018). Anyway there's almost no chance to get over $40k in 3-5 years since that price will seriously affect all other currencies in the world.

The title of the thread does not match the content of the post and there is no link to the news it will be interesting to see the results from such a survey.

interesting information, i wish you included some links to the survey with some additional information about it. in any case this is before the "Futures trading mania" started if i am not mistaken. after that CME news filled the media and then NASDAQ said the same and multiple others have been following in the past week. i think if they did the survey again, it would be at least 80% saying they know about bitcoin and from that at least half would be holding their coins for a much higher price. specially with all the speculations saying it will be $500k,... and all the signs saying it can go that high.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
