Yesterday I sold my Bitcoins of 1.21 not at the highest thinking it would go down so I could do a rebuy , seeing a downward trend (-$200), but instead when waking up they were higher for about $200.

I initially bought them for $5500. Now I don't know what to do. If i need to rebuy the same amount it wil cost me about 450 dollars more then when I sold them, thus losing profit.

When SegWitx2 got cancelled and Bitcoin Cash skyrocketed I also forgot to sell and Hodl until I lost  all my profit.

Well firstly you bought them at 5500 so I'd imagine you're still in profit, do not let this influence your decision but perhaps let it ease your stress. You must now consider what will happen with the price in the coming days and forget about your previous trades. Really given it seems you would look to rebuy the question is then just of if you should buy now or wait for a lower price. Personally I think anywhere around the low 7000s is about as low as we will go again before another run up to and beyond 8k.

As always the best thing we can do with bitcoin is to hold. If you want to buy some bitcoin just hold and wait for the dip then if you want to sell just hold and wait for the high price. Everything is just about holding in bitcoin you must be ready about the pattern of bitcoin the Ups and downs.

Well make a firm decision and take the risks in investing becaus bitcoin market is very volatile. It can suddenly dump little and continues to rise. You may wait for the dips for a few days or buy because I feel bitcoin will continue to high.

HF cancellation caused traders to move their assets to BCH, just look at them to pump very crazy. They make an opinion that BCH will kiss BTC and become the toughest rival on the exchange. At that time BTC fell, if we examine that's when we buy BTC and now we have enjoyed the results and soon forget the BCH.

There seems to be no chance for a price dip now. So,better you buy it now and the loss you face of $450 will get compensated once bitcoin price soon reaches ATH.Just bare this loss and buy bitcoin and instead,if you calculate this loss of $200 and stop buying bitcoins, then you would have to regret for your decision as bitcoin price would soon move in the upward trend.

Good decision making is really needed since the volatily of bitcoins s quitely crazy right now and If people could wait for another dip then they must do it since bitcoin for these past days are touching down for 8k$ and then the dump comes, And if we could spot or buy then maybe we can earn with another pump that will came on bitcoins on next following days. And I think the Segwit is officially continues since coinbase had email me about it.

It is much better to sell all of your bitcoins now then buy at the next dip.

You can also switch to alt coins while waiting for the next btc sky high.

Always distribute all of your investment just dont put all of your eggs in one basket.

You should hold your bitcoin base on your needs, I can’t say you made a wrong decesion because at least you make profit. You can’t buy bitcoin again at around $5500 because the price of bitcoin will continue to go higher even corrections happen.

Its good decision I believe because you bought at 5.5K and sold very much higher. You  have the good money with you now so what you can do is wait for the bitcoin dip. If you buy at this point and think that it will go even higher then it could be big mistake if the outcome is not the good one. I mean at this point there only two things that can happen, the first bitcoin goes up and the second bitcoin crashes a lot. So this is again gambling situation what to do. I would suggest that you should take 50-50% risk here by investing 50% of the amount at this point and watch the bitcoin grow. If the bitcoin falls then cover the loss with another 50% slot and then hope that bitcoin will go higher than both the entry points that you had. This way you can grab 150% of profits in no time. Just make the calculation right and you will see this will work.

I think you have sold your BTC at a wrong time. Bitcoin is setting new Highs now and there are chances for a small dip but there are more chances for a more higher price. You made your decision to sell and now its you who should decide whether to buy now or wait for a dip.
If there are certain events which make a dip in Bitcoin's price then it will be a good opportunity for you but unless there is no dip the price will be going higher and higher. $450 now could become $600 tomorrow. Make your decision. Consider one thing that even if you buy and there is a dip after that, then the price would recover and hence there are less/no chances for a loss.

Sold with profits you is already doing a great thing, but my advice is to buy back and hold as long as possible and sell when it's needed, but if you think the current price is still high and have the potential to go down, then you can wait for deeper.

Well if I were you mate, I would just would till their is a price dip. As suggested by others, we are touching ATH and we all know that after such event, a ensuing price correction is next. So have patience and wait till a correction happen, then buy in dips. At least you made your own decision and if gives you experienced now. Sometimes we need to make a mistakes so that next time we will make the right decision. Let this be a hard lesson for you.  Wink

One of the best is rebuy and hodl but that's really a long term. but if you wait for a dip you can get really big profits because many will be interested to buy which can cause a very bullish chart that can make tons of tons of money.

You will always get the chance for a good entry point during a correction. Patience is the key. Until BTC is doing that, you can play with other currencies.

Buy some now with half of what you have.  The price would definitely keep increasing. Instead of spending the entire amount you have and sitting on a luck base,  go ahead with half investment. BCH will have its growth not as a rocket but in a slow mode,  so if you are holding BCH you would surely get profit in future. Be calm as you were with BTC.  All the best.

I too missed the Bitcoin Cash peak point and now regretting, it's one of a kind opportunity and we missed it. I would buy Bitcoin and hold if I were you.

I sold my BCH super early at around 660$. Had to keep them for nearly 2 months as my average buy price was around 400$.
But still 2 days later and it hit 2400$... It was just last time it dumped so fast and now it looks more stable.

Wish I could buy again some for around 300$ Smiley

This is the problem of most people that when there is a slight decrease on btc price they got panic and sell their btc at that price but the need is to be patient if you want profits in this way or sell at profit and rebuy at dip waiting period is less for gaining profits. But if you hold for long term you will surely get profits 100-200 times if the trend continues for coming years. At last investment decision have to be taken by you with knowledge and not trusting any advice blindly by strangers.Use your trading experience and be good at it.

That is a great suggestion. But I think what you are suggesting is off the topic. He is clearly asking for advice regarding his situation and it is about bitcoin not altcoin.
