all you need to develop character to be strong one is to know many other characters and get along with them. you need to learn how to react properly to their attitude. you need to show that you are not easy taken down whatever happens. wide knowledge, good ability at something (especially at speaking), good attitude and self-confidence are important in this process. the more difficult moment you face, the stronger character you become. this is developing character process, not just having character.

I think that a big factor in developing a strong character would be confidence. Without the confidence of being who you are, you can never strengthen the character that you wish to be.
