Hi All

So I bought some coins from bittylicious and they havent arrived after 2 days
I've check the address I sent them to and the transaction id is saying it's complete on blockchain.

I have updated to the latest electrum still no joy.
I have also tried creating a new wallet with the same seed, and I have tried restoring a copy of the same original wallet.
I do notice that on both it takes ages to synchronise, but with the new wallet one at least it does eventually go green and still no coins

Any ideas?

I havent been using bitcoin/ electrum very long so sorry if some of my terminology isn't quite correct.
I'm happy to give the transaction id if that would help? I didnt know if that was the done thing of not..

Thanks
Smiley

Give us the transaction ID so that we know what exactly happen with your bitcoin and why you didn't receive it yet..
I was thinking that maybe you sent your bitcoin into wrong address.. So give us also your bitcoin addresss where you send from bittylicious.
Base on what i searched here about bittylicious i think they are just having difficulty but solved their issue so i think bittylicious is trusted and maybe your transaction  has low fee.

They should give a TXID after they have successfully processed your transaction. Double check if: a). you have given them a correct address, the same one in your electrum wallet.
b). Check the TXID if its on any block explorer e.g. blocktrail. Whether its unconfirmed or confirmed, it should show up in your wallet [Yes post your TXID here]

If the address is correct and the TXID is on block explorer/s. Check if your electrum wallet is properly sync, It should have a green dot on bottom right. If not try:
1). Changing server
2). Check if your firewall/antivirus is blocking electrum.
3). Try deleting the blockchain_headers file

Have you contacted their support regarding this?

Thanks for the replies guys

the tracsaction id is
ed3940e0e889dc1cbde18aa31405573b814249d4524644a622bbaa9526b508e0

receiving address is:
1EwJ6yfnuLGKbpdjcgF9bc5Uxa1qU1DnsV

yes it's still listed in my electrum. When I created new wallets it did go to 3rd down in the address tab. But it's still listed in the recevie tab of an
older copy of the wallet I just opened.
(this is a direct copy and paste directly from electrum: 1EwJ6yfnuLGKbpdjcgF9bc5Uxa1qU1DnsV)

The green dot is on to say it's in sync, and I've tried different servers.
It does seem to be dropping out of sync and then back in more than usual, but it always goes green.

I'm using my regular computer for this, havent updated/ installed any firewalls or anti virus

I can't find the blockchain_headers_file   do you know where it should be?

Bittylicious support page says they can't do anything once the coins are in blockchain,so not sure they'd want to know, but I'll try contacting them if all else fails.

Would installing electrum and recreating the wallet on a different computer work maybe?
Does it make any difference if you recreate from private keys instead of the seed?

Thanks again

Your transaction have almost 500 confirmations and problem is in your wallet/PC/internet,you should see this transaction in Electrum wallet. If you have option to install Electrum on different PC you can try that, and it is better to use seed then private keys.

It seems to me that this is a problem with the servers you are connected and that you should try one by one until you see your transaction.I check about this problem and there is so many situation like yours, most of them are solved with server change or restarting Electrum.

Regarding blockchain_headers_file,it is in Electrum data folder -- local disk C/users/home/app data/roaming/electrum but you need to click "organize" and check folder and search option to enable hidden files and folders.

Before you delete that file be sure to make copy just in case, and keep your seed in safe place, this is most important.

Two questions:

1. What version of Electrum are you using?
2. When you click on the "green dot", it will bring up the "network" window... what is the number of blocks listed next to "blockchain"?

My coins have appeared in my wallet today after I changed to a new server.
I had tried several different servers yesterday but none would synchronize, I guess I should've tried more.
The first one I tried this morning worked.

Anyway, problem solved, so thanks much to you all for your replies to this

If it's of interest, I notice that when I switch back to the original server I was using (14.3.38.179)
the coins disappear from my wallet again
I'm using v3.0.2
The number of blocks listed next to bockchain is indeed lower with the non-working server
and it says something about a chain split being detected

Thanks again, its been educational for me at least

If a "chain split" has been detected... it is possible that the server in question is using a s2x (or other fork code) node or something? I'm fairly sure if it is just lagging, it should explicitly tell you this...
