Hey Guys,

I am part of a team of engineers who have been developing a new bot automated cryptocurrency trading platform called Crabby. We would really like to work with the community here to get feedback on the features we've implemented and get to know what you would like to see in future releases. The application is under active development, so we can provide quick turn around for new features and strategies. We are not charging for the application, so you have complete freedom to experiment without making the difficult decision of whether or not it would be worth your hard earned coins. The first version we are releasing here will support the Poloniex exchange, however, if you don't have an account with them, you can still experiment with strategies using the backtest feature. We hope you are able to find a strategy that works for you and enjoy the benefits of automated trading. Any feedback, comments, or requests would be greatly appreciated to help us make this the best automated trading platform available.

You can download the application or get more information at: www.crabby.io.

Happy Trading!

How much experience do you have in trading?

We do have experience, however our trading experience isn't relevant because the application is just a tool. Crabby will only buy and sell based on common strategies that you configure so it is up to you to set the configuration appropriately. We aim to add more complex strategies in the future, but that is the current status of the application.

Do you have any features that you would like to see in the application? Constructive criticism and feature requests are very much appreciated.

Sorry if there was confusion, but we never hold any of your assets. Crabby only makes trades on your behalf through the Poloniex exchange, so you would need to add your assets to your Poloniex account. Once you have created an account on Poloniex you will need to create and set your Poloniex keys in Crabby. For more details, you can follow the link here: http://www.crabby.io/docs. Let us know if you have any trouble setting it up.

We plan on adding more exchanges in the future. Do you have any recommendations for exchanges that you personally use?

One of the next steps that we are planning is integrating new exchanges. Bittrex was on the top of our list for which exchanges we think would be best. As far as tools that are already available, could you let me know which tools you are referring to and I would be happy to share our vision and how it's different than those tools. To start, our application is free. When compared to the expensive tools that are in the market today, that is already a huge advantage. Additionally, our intentions with the application is to make it easy to use so that even people who are just getting introduced to bitcoin and trading now would be able to enjoy using trading bots. Do you have any specific features you would like to see added to Crabby?

Just wanted to thank everyone that did try the application, we really appreciate it. To everyone else, we understand being hesitant to download an application, so we uploaded some youtube videos of the application in action.

Introduction to Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i2ABC6rzas
Downloading and Installing Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tA3fSTkSn8
Setting Api Keys on Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdy44fC0wLw
Creating your first bot on Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blcke_JGrS4
Running your first backtest on Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ_d6WAEnQc

They are all pretty short (most ~1 minute, all under 3 minutes). The aim was to make them concise, but helpful.

Do you have a comparison to other Polo bots? They're a dime a dozen (even though yours is free I know)

I don't currently have a comparison off hand, but you can look at our website to see the features we currently support.

Here is a short breakdown:
  • Create unlimmited customizable bots.
  • Create configurable strategies based on some of the most widely used indicators in trading.
  • Analyze historic market data and run backtests.
  • View trade history and performance over time.

My team will be looking into ways we can further differentiate ourselves from other trading bots that are currently on the market as we continue developing. However, I would say that this version is an alpha release, not a full release. It has similar features to many of the other bots, but we are trying to focus on ease of use. We want to attract people who may not have gotten into trading bots because of the high cost. As our product advances, we are planning more unique features which will help differentiate ourselves from other applications. This is one of the reasons we are trying to communicate with the community. We would like know what the traders here want to see in the application. We don't want to develop in a black box and hope that people like what we are doing. Saying something is a dime a dozen is not sufficient reason not to do it. Our team can provide a high quality free application, so now we are working on determining what will make it better than everything else that is out in the market today. Do you have experience using other bot applications? If so, let me know how you think ours compares and what we could do to make it better.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to use the Crabby application. We are currently developing a new set of features which would allow you to create strategies using a strategy builder or scripts. This would open up the possibilities for what strategies can be developed or ran, and begin the process of accumulating a strategy library. We were hoping for feedback on what features you would like in a strategy builder, which statistics you would like to have available, and any other feedback you may have for us. Please let me know and we look forward to sending you updates when we are closer to the next release.
