I run windows and as the OP stated, with each Windows update i apply to my poor rigs one or more GPUs fall out of excistance. I dont know how, or why, windows hates us poor miners  Huh Angry Angry

I see absolutely no reason to have windows update enabled on mining rigs. Updates cause way more issues than solve. Even if a mining rig was compromised, no damage can be done or nothing could be stolen.

Just manually update every few months.

Not your keys, not your coins!

I Kind of agree with you, but logic dictates that an update would provide more stability. Atleast that is what i think, without reading the patch notes.
And ofcourse they are not updating automaticly. That would be miner suicide  Grin

Yes windows updater sucks.
Sometimes my pc cooler goes insane and makes a sound like an aircraft taking off.
I open taskmanager and see update going on in the background.

If its not broke, don't fix it!  TURN OFF UPDATES.  Go on google and put in Disable windows 10 updates and follow links.

Yes. Turn off windows update and be a zombie..

Thanks to all people that turn off update (Linux or win) internet is full of exploitable computer. Thanks everybody..

I use windows 10 pro and rigs update just fine, but I'm also using newer gpus such as rx 480s, rx 580s and gtx 1070s

Windows search for gpedit.msc

Go to: Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update

Change "Configure Automatic Updates" to Disable

I make it easier. After I install the windows, I turn off all window tracking, all updates.
I completely shut down windows access to the Internet and I have no problems. Everything works stably

And I advise you also.
